Sold My Mini

Well, it's been a wild ride with my 07 Red/White top manual MCS and then my 08 Laser Blue/Black top auto MCS but I'm done with Mini... I just bought a 2011 Lexus IS 250 F Package and just love it. Anyone in the Honolulu area that wants a clean, low mileage, one owner, 6 speed auto, MCS, it's sitting at Servco Lexus. This particular Mini was a very reliable car, just don't think the service dept here was up to the task of maintaining it properly. Aloha and happy motoring!

I went from an IS350 to a MINI and haven't looked back. Hope you have deep pockets ($2500 on tyres to begin with)...

Wife is looking to go from an IS300 with a Manual to a Manual Countryman.
She really likes the Countryman.

You might miss the extra room but then the Mini is so much fun to drive. Is the Clubman an S? The S is like a wild animal, sort of hard to control or rather you have to "drive" the car all the time. No laid back cruising especially if the roads are bad. I think you'll love the Mini just because it is so different.

The Countryman feels a little top heavy but it's fun to drive. I test drove an S All4 and it was pretty cool. I think she'll enjoy it if you get a reliable one, then it's ALL fun.

Wow, must be the Hawaii premium pricing. I had an incident that damaged one of my original "run flats" a couple months ago and the dealer replaced it for $255 - about the same price I'd have paid ordering from Tire Rack with shipping.

Best of luck on your new Lexus. Obviously they are great vehicles, but personally not appealing to me - that's why there are so many flavors on the market.

They are both great vehicles in their own way. I must they are apples and oranges apart.

So I just hopped real quick to a Lexus forum and this is just about the first post. Didn't cruise too much.

Not that this will happen to yours, just thought I would demonstrate how ALL cars have problems. Pretty funny.

IS-F is dead
Did not start

Jumped it, all lights are going crazy, navi won't turn on, car drives funny, thought it was my badass aftermarket LSD, realized car was bone stock, realized I am out of toilet paper, realized I can't get to Wal mart to buy more

Going to call Lexus tomorrow and get #1 towed to the dealer

I never said I went to Lexus because it's better than Mini or that I would never have problems with my Lexus. You'd have to be an idiot to think that. Mini is an awesome car, I've owned two and will probably go back in a couple of years. I got tired of the apple and went to an orange, when I get tired of the orange I'll go back to the apple.

Good for you. Sounds like you get a new experience. I hope you have fun with your new car. Post up the differences after you get a feel for the car.

I think I can guess the differences but I have never driven one of those cars so I can only guess.

And obviously I read into your post something that was not there. My bust, accept my apologies.

Motor On!

No problem PatM, it's easy to read too much into some of these posts. There really is no comparison, it's like comparing a washer to a dryer, they both do things with clothes but in a completely different way. I'll say this, the Lexus forums are pretty boring hence you see me still hanging out here on NAM.

I would have paid 225 for the conti run flat stateside. That price the OP quoted is the Hawaii price. But I went with non run flats and paid $110.00
