Who makes the oil filter for MINI?

My local auto parts store has a Wix and a Fram oil filter to fit my 2011 copper S. I am wondering what filter to use, are one of these Mfgs also making the filter for MINI ? Thanks..

Most likely Mann. They make all the filters for BMW. I don't think BMW would have decided to use a new source just for Mini. If its a drop in filter that uses yellow paper, its mostly likely made by Mann.

Most auto makes have 2 scources for parts...
MANN and MAHLE are the two companies that bmw/mini have historicly used...
both are well respected filter companies (just not common in us stores).

Croc 645 I'm in central TExas too - 787xx. LMK if you find a deal on a case of filters and we can split it. I have found several places, but I'm still looking as my first oil change is due at 5k. These filters and seals ain't cheap as you know. :(

Mahle makes the fuel filters I've noticed. But they also make the air and oil filters too. I just get the OE disposables from the dealer and they almost always look like Mann.

get the oem filter from mini. they're sold online and at your local dealer. don't let them have reason to deny warranty. i wouldn't take that chance.

The factory filter for the 2nd generation cars is made by Purflux. The part number from Purflux is L358.

www.purflux.com

If you order the Purflux boxed filter it will contain the filter and o-ring, not the drain plug crush washer.

I would (do) trust Wix as much as OEM. If getting the Wix is more convenient, i'd go for that personally. I don't need any more reasons than necessary to visit the dealership.

I'm a relatively new Mini driver. I've always used FRAM filters for my diy changes. I purchased my car used and do not have any warranty left, is there any reason to not use whatever I can get my hand on locally?

And if so, is this the right Mann? It is only $7 online.
