First time Mini owner 2012 Cooper

Placed my order the end of June. I got a 2012 Cooper, Chili Red w/ Black Top and mirrors, sport seats, center arm rest, anthracite headliner, black headlight housings with xenons, JCW package, and black sport stripes. Oh yeah, and iPod adapter. I have a VIN number and online it says my car is sitting at the port in South Carolina. How long will it take to get to Mini Birmingham AL from there? It also says expected delivery date of Weds the 27th which is tomorrow. Is this realistic? OK, one more. What can I expect as far as the ride of the cooper and gas mileage? Im coming from a 2004 Audi A4. Thanks everyone!!

Oh god, you're at Tom Williams BMW/MINI? I've had terrible luck with them. It sucks that they are the only dealership in Alabama. I'll be trying Atlanta MINI for service in the future.

I know I didn't answer your question. Just wanted to rant :D

Thanks for the info, I'm actually in FL closer to Mini Pensacola but Birmingham honored USAA member pricing. Pensacola wouldn't surprisingly. The car will definitely go to Pensacola for service.

Pensacola, ahhh great place for sure. Ughhhh this waiting is killing me!!!!!! Just talked to the dealer, the car is scheduled for delivery to them tomorrow. She then said it could take longer because it is a 2012. They have to inspect it more and make sure everything is good. Doesn't sound right at all to me, does it? Anyways, I can't wait much longer

You're right, more inspections the better I guess. Yes I did speak to Val but I did all the dealing with Mike. Anyone have pics of a JCW cooper?

Lots of pics of JCWs on the board.

These are some of my favorites... because they are similar to my build/colour choices of course

As far as ride and mileage go, I just picked up a 2011 Cooper on Friday and compared to my old 2006 Cooper, the ride and mileage are superb! You should get pretty close to the 29/32/37 listings, but so far the computer has me at about 38 mpg mixed driving. The ride is not as rough and the interior noise is not as loud as in the 2006. Not sure about the 2012, but can't be that different! You'll be in it before you know it!

Ok, as soon as I saw Mini of Birmingham, I just had to leave a comment! My experience with them has been truly awesome and Valerie (plus Tina) rock like no other! ^.^ I would definitely recommend her to anyone in Alabama who decides to buy a new MINI I hope that your 2012 Hardtop arrives safely and that Mini of B'ham allows for an altogether smooth and pleasant transaction! I have no complaints about them, but then again I could have been blinded by the free food

Congrats on the new MINI. I can highly recommend the service department at MINI of Pensacola. God knows mine was in the shop enough and they always did a great job.

Nope, retired Army. Our daughter is in the Air Force. MINI of Pensacola is great. I got the USAA price with them even though I ordered mine. Anyway we have to get together. Have you joined the Panhandle MINIs yet?
