WHEW!!! I am glad we don't have TPMS. It will save me a couple hundred bucks
Another advantage (esp here in Canada) - no TPMS sensors makes switching to winter tires and back SO MUCH more convenient. Get some steel rims and winter "grips", that way you're all set in the fall - just swap the wheels/tires and reset your tire pressure warning system, and you're done.
BTW - the ABS tire pressure system works - I got a new set of tires a couple of years ago, the warming light went off after about 2 weeks of driving. Checked the pressures - one tire was down almost 10 psi. I didn't notice the low tire (no difference in handling, etc.) before the warning went off. I took the car back to the tire dealer, they found a very tiny leak in the sidewall of that one tire. Tire replaced under warranty - no more problems.
