NEW 2011 JCW Owner - Dumb Question

Okay had a 2010 MCS Hardtop for almost a year. LOVE IT! Planned on ordering a 2012 Cabrio... than somehow walked out of the Dealership with a grin from ear to ear with a NEW 2011 Black on black JCW.

So my quick ..... First! Dumb question is ...... hold it...... what model # is the JCW?

Okay before I had a 2010 R56.

Now I have a 2011 JCW R?????

Thx! for not laughing to hard.

BTW I live in Charlotte and bought it in Knoxville....I just had to drive it home through the Tail of the Dragon.... OMFG!!!! Wow I thought my MCS was quick and fun.
This JCW is scary quick and fun. I think I already need new tires. I felt the rearend come around and slide a bit and was squealing tires most the time.

I know many of you are going to harp on me for break-in ... but my school of thought and has worked for all my Harley's has been to use BACK pressure to seal in rings. Drive it hard.... just no red line and use the motor to slow down to create back pressure. (there are many sites on this process) But this has worked awesome for me... and always turned out great HP.
Disclaimer.... never owned a vehicle longer than the warranty.... probably no longer than 30K.

It still carries the same nomenclature as your base model. R56, R57, R55

You just bought an R56 (MCS) with factory JCW options.

Seriously, are you going to keep it long enough for the model number to matter? You had a 2010, now you have a 2011 and you're looking forward to a 2012.

Some of us don't change our underwear that often.

Yeah my Wife would like it if I just kept a car or steel horse longer than 2 years....

H'm maybe one year I will grow up (currently 38)... but no time soon.

And this JCW just adds more youth to my ego.

I'm in the same boat. After an 04.5 Passat variant it was an 07 Civic Si, 07 Rabbit, 08 GTI, '10 M3, '11 A4 Avant and now one of the JCW Minis (not sure which one yet).

That is not correct. It's not a MCS with factory JCW options. Its a MINI John Cooper Works. That is the nomencalture on the window sticker and the front /rear badges. Nowhere on my car does it mention that its a MINi Cooper S.

The other thing I would like to mention is that all these "R" designations such as R53/R55/R56/R57/R60. These are not official naming standards for the car. They are BMW/MINI internal model designations.

Most people that have a BMW 328 do not know its an e90. My wife sure as heck does not know that her X5 is an e70.

See this is where its a bit confusing.

Its a R56 JCW

But after market sites only show R56 MCS sections

For a newbie like me .... I want a dedicated JCW section

H'm
