R56 Rear ended on the GW Bridge
Finally
I finally got my car back today. The paint job and body work are very well done. Had some small issues that were over looked when the car was returned to me last week. I brought it back and they took care of everything. So I officially have it back today.
The magic is gone. I am not the MINI enthusiast I was a few short weeks ago. Its just a car that can easily be destroyed. I am sorry I bought instead of leased as I could be getting a new car in another 15 months. A leased car costs me a lot less. No mods, take it to the local car was once or twice a month.
I still enjoy driving the car and I will be checking in here from time to time but I am just about done. This repair process was just too much for me.

Steve, I'm glad you got your car back. I'm just so sorry to hear that you lost your love for modding and your obsession with Mini in general. I honestly feel for you. I hope that no matter what your decisions are, they are the right ones for you.

Missed all of this when it was first posted. I just wanted to say I am sorry. And I hope time will help heal this but if it doesnt, I hope that you find something else that will bring you the joy that MINI used to bring you.
I'm glad you're alright and that you got your car back in a satisfactory condition. Unless you drive an '82 Jeep Comanche like my stepfather, any car "can easily be destroyed" these days. Friends with SUVs have been in little fender benders that tore the whole fascia and bumper off, rear ended and bent the frame. You always lose some enthusiasm after your baby gets bashed, or is in the shop.
Hopefully you'll get over it and feel better soon.

I'm also really glad that you didn't get injured and am sorry that your enthusiasm has taken a big hit...but I totally understand. If it means anything, you are one of the users on NAM that really got me thinking about modding. Your enthusiastic posts were contagious, and it really sucks that this happened to you. Hopefully there are other things in your life that will make you happy...and if not, you know where to find the MINIacs.

I am taking it back to the dealer again on Monday so they can put the Challenge stripe graphics with the #8 back on. They will also be putting an Xpel clear bra on the front bumper and a strip on top of the rear bumper.
They still need to fix a few minor things like my factory alarm. Apparently this MINI of mine has some electrical gremlins after being hit by that big box truck. There is still something rattling around in the boot area and a few other minor things.
I am still hoping that Lyle of Vinyl Styles will come back out to the northeast so I can get the chrome on the car blacked out.
And maybe I will get new wheels. The Challenge wheels are a challenge to keep clean
