Pothole killed my tire.....should I get 1 or 2 new ones?
Ok so I hit a nasty pothole (there are alot of them these days in the northeast) and they are not being repaired due to lack of money in this economy but I digress....
So I noticed after hitting this pothole that I have a bubble in the sidewall of my tire and is obviously not safe to drive with.
My tires brand new come with 11/32" inches of tread and this tire (and the one opposite it on the same axel) has ~ 7.5/32 of tread remaining.....if it's any more help I've driven 15,000 miles on them ( they are 8 months old).
So should I just replace this one tire or would it be best if I get two new ones?
Here is a pic and thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions!

I would replace two and put them on the front. You don't by chance have the road hazard warranty do you?.? That sucks. I was on a road today that they stripped the top-coat of pavement and I thought I lost half my car. It's terrible. Now I'm going to have to go outside and make sure I didn't get a bubble in mine.
It certainly looks like that tire cannot be repaired.
At 15K already, you can get two. Use the good one as a spare just in case you need it. Tire manufacturers will tell you to put the new tires in the rear. That is all I will say about where the new tires should go. Lots of opinions about this.

Nice, I've had 3x of those on my R32! First time I replaced all 4 with nice new Michelins. 2 failed since and I replaced them 1 at a time under my tire warranty. If the tread difference is minimal, replace 1, otherwise replace 2! Looks like you really should do 2.
I went through this with the runflats on my 135i. Looking back, after replacing 2 runflats in a 1 month period, I wish I had switched to non-runflats. The cost of 2 runflats would have easily covered the cost of 4 non-runflats.
I got rid of the runflats on my new MINI within the first month of ownership. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

yeah I probably should have mentioned these are already non-runflats but thanks for the replies.
I guess I'll go w/ 2 new tires and keep the other good one as a backup.
