R50/53 R53 ignition and Ac issue
R53 ignition and Ac issue
Good afternoon all,
So my problems started with my radiator fan relay, where only the high speed fan was working. It got to the point where the fan remained on after turning off the car. Eventually it killed the battery. Since that happened my buddy and I replaced the relay with the Dorman unit. Upon replacing it, we jumped the car and drove her around. She acted just fine.
Three days later, the wife says the car is not starting, so I go to her work to jump it to only find that it started right up. But when it was starting up I heard the starter keep working after the car started for a few seconds. So I turned off the vehicle and noticed that if I left the car in the last position before starting the car and just stepped on the clutch the car would turn on automatically. That is my first problem.
Now my 2nd problem, my climate control module is not working at all, no fan, heater, or ac. nothing!
Please assist. Thanks

UPDATE
So I went to start the car right now, apparently after the car starts and I slightly hold back the key then the headlights, climate control, windows toggles switches start to work again.
Could it be the ignition switch?

so i figured it out myself. the white cylinder inside the ignition switch wore out near pin 8, which would strike pin 8 causing it to activate the starter, thus it would start up automatically as soon as the clutch safety switch was triggered.
