Received and installed, many thanks to you for your generosity and willingness to help a fellow MINI owner.

On a side note, almost all radio stations are coming in fine except one that was on the marginal side before. That station is just a bit worse.

Ordered the Alta 2" the week after the car was ordered. Love the look with black roof and rims!

I bought Craven Speed's Bullett antenna because I like the look and I was able to get it at discount price. I had a stubby antenna on my '06 MC (purchased from MINIMania, I believe ... don't remember the Mfgr). When I sold the car, I wanted to remove it but couldn't. After 4 years, it had become a permanent fixture. I worked on it for quite a while, but no luck. I was being especially careful, because a few days after installing the stubby, I bumped it while washing the car. It snapped off the mounting point, along with a sizable chunk of the plastic housing. I asked the dealer about getting it fixed under warranty as the damage was considerably out of proportion to how hard I had bumped it. But since I admitted that I HAD bumped it, the SA told me it wasn't a warranty issue and charged me ~$500 to replace the housing. Apparently, it's a lengthy process as the entire headliner must be removed. So, not a mistake I wanted to ever repeat! Consider yourselves forewarned!
Back to the Bullett ... I don't listen to the radio a lot (mostly listen to my iPod), but when I do, the reception is OK. One station's signal is noticeably worse, but it was already pretty bad with the stock antenna. In this case, function follows form, which is fine with me.

FWIW I've been following this topic and noticed that several posters said the R56 has a 6mm thread. My 2010 justa has a 5mm thread on its original antenna. I don't have a stubby antenna but you folks have convinced me I need one. Based on price and the comments posted here, I'll go for the Shark 7" model.

Well my 2009 MC is 6mm. It could have changed for 2010 models. Good choice, you won't regret it. I have perfect reception and i live in a busy city. Worth every penny and fast deliver.
