R56 Isn't Karma a BlTCH!!!
Isn't Karma a BlTCH!!!
I tend to be a little bit of an overly aggressive driver... maybe it's the type A personality, maybe it's the mini, who knows.
And though I tend to be aggressive, I tend to be extremely courteous. If you want to change lanes in front of me, no problem, use your turn signal and I will do everything possible to let you in.
You want to pull out of a gas station onto the main road and traffic is sitting at a light... no problem, I'll let you in, I'm not going anywhere anyway.
To me, driving is much like life... give respect, get respect.
Having said that, I never pull out in traffic cutting someone off without a) nailing the gas so as not to make the oncoming car so much as hit their brakes.
and b) not without checking the car behind them. If there is no car coming, I can wait the extra 2 seconds to let them go by and pull out.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY BlTCH TODAY!!!!
I'm driving on the way home down a long stretch of road with no traffic whatsoever except for some idiot wanting to pull out of his driveway in a toyota pickup.
I look behind me and realize there's no cars so of course, the natural thing to do is wait until I go by.... BUT NOOOOO, the moron waits until I'm right in front of him and pulls out in front of me.
I'm like you freakin' moron, so I dumped the clutch, downshifted and went around him.
Just as I get into the left lane, I see a rock come flying out of his front tire and where does it go? That's right.... right into my windshield.
Guess Karmas a BlTCH alright....

Our driving schools suck... PERIOD!
They teach enough to get behind a wheel and that's it.
My daughter is 15 and as soon as she gets her license, I'm signing her up for some driving schools... they have special schools designed for young teens to get the feel of the car.
As far as the broken glass, oh well, crap happens. I've got insurance and since I'm in the bodyshop business, I'll get it done with factory parts.
I remember last time I had a windshield done by the dealer under warranty and they trashed my car... I ain't going through that again.

i have a similar story except it the guy was coming onto the freeway. a ***** of pavement broke off a horizontal slat of the lower grill and there's a baseball sized area where the fins of the IC are completely flattened.

use a haircomb to fix the intercooler fins.
Damn it, you beat me to it. I was going to say at least get a little screwdriver and spread the fins.

Nah, ya use one of those "free" Snap-On little screwdrivers with the magnet on the end. They're super thin and sometimes a comb won't work if you have too many bent in one spot.
Regardless of the tool used, you'd have to have a TON of fins bent over to really make a difference. (if I remember correctly, 10% of the fin area before it has a negative effect)

FISSED:
Sorry for the tangent everyone.
I have a very tiny nick in mine in the upper right corner, and the last time I took my car to be washed, the guy followed me around trying to get me to let him fix it.
I try to remember karma whenever I'm behind the wheel though, especially being in a car as small as mine. It seems to work out, except for whoever left me that door ding last weekend...
