Hey don't feel like you're privileged having idiots on the roads, there are plenty here in Australia. Australia is first world I believe but there is no mandatory driver education and God knows we could do with it.
My Daughter is learning to drive at the moment, that's when you get to see the real idiots with no consideration. The L plate means nothing ... tailgating, cutting in front etc

Saw one at the nearby Porsche dealer. that is one sexy sedan. Why are many Porsche enthusiasts dissing it? Because it has 4 doors?

Getting back to Mark's rant: I tell people dont waste $$ on mods, for an advanced driving skills class is some of the best $$ invested. I had to take a series of them a couple decades ago, when I worked as a housesitter/driver for a celebrity at his Aspen home. This class, however, focused more on evasive driving techniques, avoiding and getting out of danger, and how to shake tails and other annoyances. What I learned, however, has stuck since then.

Best advice I've heard on any automotive forum. There's a lot of cars out there that handle a LOT better than the drivers do. Including the MINI. I'd bet that 85% of all MINI drivers have no idea what their car can actually do.

Man, that sucks. Same thing happened to me this week, but the rock was not big enough to bust the windshield. It left a small mark though.

Orangecrush, did I spot you on I-85 going North on Wednesday? It looked like your car.

Sounds like your next mod should be an air horn!

Thanks ya'll....

Stimpy,

I was on I-85 around Concord Mills Mall the last few days (last weekend and today)

Velour,

I want one so bad. I have airhorns on my H2 and the look on someone's face when they cut you off and you hit that horn.... priceless.

Benzoc,

Thanks bud, much appreciated.

As far as the glass, I've already got a new Mini glass being delivered. They were going to deliver it today but my shop closes at noon on Fridays and I wasn't about to hang around for a piece of glass. (though where I was younger, I'd hang around forever for a piece of ..... oh GLASS.. opps, my bad.)

I had a fist size chunk of concrete fall out of the bed of a toyota pickup yesterday on I485 at 75mph which bounced off the pavement and right up onto my hood leaving three deep gouges and a baseball size dent.

So orange, you not only have a MINI but you've got an H2 as well? Man you're my hero. <3

But I know exactly what you're talking about with stupid drivers. Having to go downtown almost every day I get cut off/almost t-boned/merged onto/etc all the time. Rarely people are considerate to help me out, but I always go out of my way to let people get in front of me if necessary, etc... but hey, I can be a bit aggressive at times... guess all of us can, huh?

Only sob story I have isn't really worth 'sobbing' over. Big truck flinging a rock chipped my paint on the hood; it's an itty bitty teenie weenie little mark but I notice every little blemish on my baby (oh and a ding on the driver's side door because people who park downtown are dumb). Thank god I'm gonna be getting some touch up paint soon...
