March 17 is estimated time of production end. Not sure how long it takes to build it but I am guessing March 14 is production start.

No idea if new engine or not, if so bonus!

 

Soon you will be able to start tracking it across the pond. I had a lot of fun with that.

Takes about 8-9 days start to finish. Ours started Jan 23rd and finished Feb 1st. We ordered it Dec 28th so it seemed like a long wait but it was well worth it as I'm sure yours will be too!

 

I am all set like the Pentagon to track it!!! All that is missing as of now are the names of the folks at the factory building it and captain's name and number!!! Working on both of these issues!

Our new Clubby was started Feb 12, and finished Feb 23. It was at the port Feb 24 and still sits there. MINI can't give us a transport date.

Congrats on the order. I just placed mine last week. Just curious how you obtained this info regarding your production dates?

Mine just says 'on order' and I havent been able to track down any additional production dates yet.

@netma1000 - why has your car been sitting at the port for so long? Is that the normal time frame to ship? Wow, this process is a true test of patience.

Once your car is sloted for production, your rep will have that info + VIN. Web is delayed by a few days.

I don't know if you found this out yet or not: call 1-866-ASK-MINI. You will be prompted to say your production number or last 7 digits of your vin. Then it will tell you the status of your MINI. It's more up to date than the web site.

My MINI just went into production yesterday and I ordered it 3/3. The wait seemed forever!

Called the ask mini phone line and the status has finally changed to in production with an estimated completion date of 3/30/10!!!

No kidding about that wait - congrats to you as well!

 

Nice work. The tracking gets more obsessive as you go a long. My car arrived in port last Thursday, and then arrived at the dealer Sunday.... They said I should be able to pick it up on Thursday after they finish the JCW install. I don't see much getting done in the next 24 hours .... I hope they don't push it to Friday... then the whole week will have been lost

 

Wait is difficult

Car was completed on March 17 and at the port on the 19th! BUT STILL NO BOAT!!! I will give them 2 more days...after that taking my canoe and show them how it is done!

 

R56, Is it killing you to know it's at the dealer? SO CLOSE! I think that might be the hardest part of waiting - when it's at the dealer. I might make a fool of myself and beg to come visit it! I'm still in production so no where near the dealer yet!

 

mcoupe, I feel your pain. That seems like an awfully long time to be waiting for a boat. So sorry!

 

Its definitely killing me... I got to go see it last night (fill out remaining paperwork), and drive it......couldnt take it home though.... what a tease......
