How many miles on your 07 to 2010 MCS
How many miles on your 07 to 2010 MCS. Just kinda a poll and a great source of information for all owners of 2007 to 2010+ MCS turbo cars.
I am really concerned about long term reliability.
Just wondering weather or not to hold on to mine or not. At 7000 miles
and the dreaded cold start issue [timing chain/tensioner] that mine has and the
dealer says they can't duplicate it so they will not fix it yet.
Now I am reading about carbon build up and a few other issues. thanks

I'm at 41K on my 2008. Had the timing chain replaced related to apparent cold-start issues with no ill effects. No issues with carbon build-up.
Even if you choose to bail on the car before potential issues become your problem, there's a long way between your current 7,000 miles and the 50K warranty expiration. Don't stress, just enjoy the car.

We have an 07 that we picked up in January 08. She has almost 44,000 miles on her and we are going into the dealer on Tuesday for an "engine rattle". Luckily we go to Happy Hour with a couple of the wonderful techs from Mini of Dallas so the noise has been heard by someone who knows MINIs. No other major issues so far.

I've had my 2009 MCS since mid Oct 09, and have 22k miles on it so far, with zero issues. The SA just shook his head when I showed up for service. lol
I expect to have about 100k on it this time next year, and if its as reliable as I hope it is, I will be replacing it with another one. Great car so far!

I have a 07 mcs bought it at like 46 k all highway miles.
and now it has 56k
Had cold start replaced before warranty went out thank god!
They found it before it started to get worst. But im still having problems with starting it in the morning it doesn't sound right and it seems like im running on 3 cylinders

11/07 delivery date, with 92,500 so far- I had the cold start rattle for over 20k before I could get the dealer to fix it once and for all at 50k. Up until then the replacement tensioners weren't effective- this third version seems have done the trick. Carbon build-up removal was done then too at no charge to me. I paid for a high pressure fuel pump replacement around 60k (~$1200), and just had a cracked thermostat housing replaced for $350 at a non-dealer shop last week.

2007 MCS with 15,500 miles. Had the intake manifold replaced (didn't even know I had a problem) and the chain tensioner ( wasn't too bad but they replaced it anyway). If you are really worried perhaps you should trade for a Toyota!
All manufacturers have problems with a certain percentage of their cars. Those are mostly the cars you read about on the forums.
I have a Boxster with zero problems yet if I listened to their forum I would have sold it a long time ago because of all the potential troubles.
Just drive it and smile and if it breaks, get it fixed and smile again!
