SoCal Price Quotes on Extended Maintenance

Thank you everyone for the good discussion on the Extended Maintenance Program.

For reference here are the latest price quotes from SoCal dealerships (as of 9/16/10) I am quoting the lowest they will go. Quote was based on '07 Cooper S w/ all JCW upgrades, still in service.

Irvine Mini and South Bay Mini are lowest at $1495/$1500 respectively (Mini San Diego claims they will price match). Long Beach Mini said they will do the transaction over the phone (need picture of odo).

Calabasas $1895
Alexander Mini $1895
Mini of Universal City $1995
Mini of Monrovia $? (no call back)
South Bay Mini $1500 (ask for Harvey)
Long Beach Mini $1695 (will do by phone, need pick of odo as for Anne)
Mini Ontario $1895
Crevioer Mini $1695
Irvine Mini $1495 w/ coupon (ask for Travis)
Mini Escondido $1695
Mini San Diego $1695 (will price match other dealers, ask for Kara)

Prestige Mini in NNJ still advertises it for 1395 IIRC.

that's been Morristown's price for quite a long time, actually.

Good point. But now people have a print out to help them price match an advertised price.

this is an awesome thread, and I wish i saw it when I bought my extended, back in 2009. I bought mine for $1995, down from the original $2195. What a RIP. Worse, I sold the car a month later. AND had just put new socks and shoes on it. Ridiculous. I should have just driven down the Embarcadero throwing twenties out the window. More people would have enjoyed it.

This is a great resource for the future!

I ordered a second Mini a couple of weeks ago and am waiting for the boat to delivery it. This thread gives me good ammunition for dealing with the dealership. Thanks one and all!

I would say just print out Morristown Mini's advertised price and see if they will beat (or at least match it)

or just contact morristown mini and see if they will work with you. i know you would need to send them one of your key fob's though.. but, IMO, since they are the ones offering and giving the best deal, give them the buisness!

FWIW I paid $1395 for the ext maint. @ MINI of San Antonio a couple of months ago. Too bad I didn't know about Morristown's pricing I could have saved $100.

$1395 isn't bad; MSRP, actually. At least you aren't facing a $1795 price tag, like out here in Arizona. Other places are even higher, getting up over $2k.

Our dealer tried to justify the cost (which was about $1500 two months ago) by explaining that pads and rotors would run $1300, oil changes $125 (in THEIR service dept). We said, "No, thanks."

I think their coffee machine accepts only $20 bills.

Thanks to everyone who commented on this, especially TobCapone.

I went into my dealership, Mini of Monrovia, with a print-out of TobCapone's post of SoCal prices. My service rep, Jim, gave me a $500 off voucher. He was coy about the actual price, saying I needed to discuss the pricing with the finance guy. (I'm OK with that. Jim's been a good guy.)

I gave TobCapone's print-out along with the $500 voucher to the finance guy and he gave me a price of $1695. I said "OK", paid for it and was out the door!

Wow, after their so-called $500 discount you still paid $300 over miniusa.com's price.

Really? Really?
Most men and women, who visit these types of forums, make valuable contributions to them.
So I find people like you truly aggravating.
You take a positive post and turn it negative.
To quote Christian Bale: “GOOD FOR YOU!”

If you were happy with $1695, that's fine.
But it was still a valid point. No need to be upset.

I tried, I called today and they said they need the car and the key. I understand the reasoning of that but not the reasoning of marking it up $400+ OVER MSRP at my local dealership.

I paid 1395 at Towne MINI, I was told MINI USA is raising the price Jan, 2011 to around 2000, i think. I cant remember the exact number, but it was much higher than the 1395. They read it to me off a bulletin from MINI USA.

Good. I paid 1599 after tax. Every person I've talked (my experience as well) to said the dealer told them "it was going way up". I think it's in their sales book next to "bad gas"

MINI of Fairfield County in Stamford, CT is $1395 but the prices are going up. As of 1/11/11 it will be $1695.

I am now thinking seriously about this.

Just bought a 2010 certified MINI Next from MINI of Peabody that only has 4,125 miles on it - a real beauty - and the warranty will go out until 4/2016... And then I have my '09 Clubman (10/08) who has just over 28,000 miles on her... Hmmm...

I just paid $1897 at Crevier Mini in So Cal. They did however let me finance for 12 months interest free. I added this to an expired 07 MCS maintenance plan.
