Where did people get this warranty for $695? (in my opinion if your going to thrown that out you should at least include where and drive more buisness to that person.. other wise its just here say) I shot e mails to the dealers with contact info who are on NAM toady but they havent responded yet. I did recall my dealer as well and they did requote me half of what they did befor..for 695 i'd get it today just for piece of mind, shoot its only like 25 bucks a month at that price!

At $695 it is almost a no brainer. If you do get that price ask them if they will offer it to others as well and then share their contact info.

That price is analogous to selling a new Mini at "Invoice plus" rather than "MSRP less". They would only have made a minimal profit on the deal. It is unlikely that they would do that very often. Probably part of a deal to get a car sold.

695 for what? that's nearly 1000 less than most people paid recently when they thought they'd got a fair price. the 6yr 100k service?
i can't really believe that, the MINI/BMW aren't going to take a hit and do all that work for 695$. the company always wins. (or with minimal loss)

sounds like mspr. i paid 1695 last summer. but it was "last chance offer" for local mini club owners only i think mspr then was 1899? i'd call a few dealers and compair. all that said, it was supposedly going up so maybe that's a deal this year!?

do this... call then and tell them you were offered the 1395 and that you called mini use and spoke to them about it... tell them if they will match it, go for it and if not you will just call around to find the dealer who will like to have your business and take your business there, but the local dealer will have to honor the warranty anyways so it doesnt really matter who you 'buy' it from... if they want to walk away then they will pass up the sale... when i spoke to them i straight up said 'well i have my card in my hand and i'm ready to buy and i know i can get it for 1395, what do you say?' if they say no... call another dealer... but be polite... i'm confident they have some wiggle room... its in the spirit of customer service

Have you got a price for powertrain warranty? If yes, how much is it?

I live in WA state; I am not sure if I can buy the warranty from NJ or not.

Thanks,

Tina

Just tried that. They told me $1395 is what MINI charges them. BS.

I've been hemming and hawing over buying the extended maintenance from Morristown since I got their e-mail about the $1295 price back in February. It ends April 1 and I still can't decide.

Has anyone, anywhere beaten 3 years at $1295.00? Please tell us where.

Since the warranty is through MINI USA then you can still have the service done at any MINI USA dealer, right?

So has anyone from outside New Jersey had luck in buying from them? I'm thinking to call them but if no one else has had luck then I'll save the futility.

Previous thread from several months/years ago with a Florida dealer had people mailing the keyfob to them (evidently they needed that to verify current mileage?) and using a credit card over the phone.

Anyone done that with Morristown?

Add us to the list we just paid $338.00 for a thermostat on a 2005 with 14,000 miles on it. They sold us the plan as a "covers all" plan. Oh well, I won't go back to that dealership again. KNAUZ Motors, Lake Bluff, Illinois.

are you talking warranty or maintenance? no offense but the thread topic, extended maintenance program, would not cover something like that.

this thread has got a bit random some people talking warranty and others talking about oil/brakes/etc. - THE EXTENDED MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

I called Morristown, but they insist on having the car in-person to do a visual inspection and a key read (they won't mail a key back if you send them one -- say they aren't allowed because of the potential to lose them).

I can't blame them for any of that... it just sucks for me here in Arizona where the local dealerships want to give me a "deal" on the plan for $1795.

-------
Other quotes I've received so far: (I'll be updating this periodically)

$1695 -- Rasmussen MINI (OR)
$1795 -- MINI of Scottsdale (AZ) ("deal" price)
$1795 -- MINI of Tempe (AZ)
$1895 -- MINI of Las Vegas (NV)
$1895 -- Princeton MINI (NJ)
$1988 -- Ralph Schomp MINI (CO)
$1990 -- Bill Jacobs MINI (IL)
$1995 -- MINI of Universal City (CA)
$2195 -- Sandia MINI (NM)
$2195 -- MINI of Monrovia (CA)
$2800 -- MINI of Ontario (CA)
$2850 -- Crevier MINI (CA) ("deal" is $2180)

... starting to seriously consider cost of a plane ticket to NJ if they can make do with just the key.

So my brake light just came on. You're saying I can drive to Morristown Mini in NJ and for ~$1300 they will extend my maintenance 3 years and then I can go back to Long Island and have Habberstad do the brake job for free?

That's worth it right?

Is the maintenance program transferable if I sell the car?

It costs slightly more ($100-200, something like that) if you're already outside your 3yr/36000miles maintenance period — which I'm guessing you are if they won't do the brake work for free right now.

But, yeah, pretty much anything that your car tells you needs doing they'll do (brakes, oil, etc.) until you hit 6yr?/100,000 miles.

And it is transferable (to a new owner, not to a new car) — if you sell the car, the coverage goes with the car.
