R56 Jack Points

I'd like to put my R56 up on 4 jacks. Can anyone tell me where to put the jack to achieve this?

Thanks.

The mini has a very stiff chassis.

I cut a 4x 4 lumber to fit between the two jack point and then place my jack in the center of the 4x4 and lift.

Then repeat on the other side

I do something similiar to your procedure. On the GP there is an underbody paneling that attachs to the side skirts and is fairly flimsey. I never wanted to jack the car from that location. I utilize the same 4 X 4 lumber but I cut it to span under both jack points. After lifting each side I then put the jack stands under the 4 X 4 right beneath the jacking points. Doing it this way I am only lifting the car by the jacking points and not the side skirts. I have read where lots of people jack under the side skirts and some claim to be successful and some have problems cracking or denting. Doing it this way you are only lifting by the jacking points and eliminate the chance of problems.

Damn! That's a great idea! I used to be changing jacking positions all the time to get it up on all 4 stands, but I'm going to Lowe's next time I need to be on all 4.

I use a floor jack on the forward jack point and it lifts both wheels on that side high enough to get a jack stand under both. I would suggest raising the car to the lowest level of the jack stand, then switch sides. Repeat as needed.
I can rotate the tires just jacking the car up twice. Free bonus!

Thanks for the solutions but what I need is a place to jack up the car that is NOT a jack stand and is safe.

Anyone?

If you are using the front jack point with your floor jack to lift your car I understand how you would be able to place the rear jack stand under the jacking point but how do you place the front jack stand when the floor jack is utilizing the jacking point? It seems to me you can only do one at a time.

In your question I assume you ment jack point. These are really the only safe locations. As described above some place a 2 X 4 or 4 X 4 under the side rails. Some have reported success and some failures. In my description above I use a 4 X 4 to span the jacking points on each side, lift from the middle under the 4X4 with a racing jack, then add jack stands under the 4 X 4 below the jacking points.

Sorry for the confusion. From the picture it did not seem as if the 4 X 4 was under the front jack point.

I am guilty of only using the jack stand on the rear jack point. ;-)
