possible NOOOB here...question.

Hello guys, My name is albert. I am looking at a Mini Cooper for my wife, it is a 2007 with the double sunroof option. How can I tell what options have been installed? this is not the "s" model, maybe I will buy one of those for me later on down the line...

When I first saw the cooper, I noticed that a light was missing in the rear, this is located right smack in the middle of the bumper. What goes there?

I also noticed that one of the "handles" that is on the headboard (driver side) is broken, does anyone have a part number for that? I also want to know if this car has an AUX input, the radio has the option to select it but I cannot find where to insert the cable. In the rear of the car, there are two rectangular holes that looks like they need some sort of covers....ummm...does anyone know where I can find those?

I apologize for all the questions, I drove the car today and it is fun! I look forward to be here and meet new people, please let me know what you can about my questions. thanks guys!!

First of all welcome to NAM. The light missing in the rear bumper is the optional fog light. The part # for the roof handle can be found here. The aux plug-in is on the underside of the center column below the window switches. As far as finding out which packages it has. If you have buttons on the steering wheel combined with a digital AC display and sunroof then you have the premium package. The other two are the cold weather(heated seats w buttons on the outside edges of the center window switches) and convenience(black button on the exterior driver door handle). Hope this helps. If you could post a link or pictures I could probably tell you more.

thanks for the reply! Yeah, it does have the steering wheel controls with the digital a/c. Is that better than the base models? I will take some pics of it tomorrow and post them up as soon as I do. I hope to get this, my wife has been wanting one for a while now, and this one came up so I am looking into it. Is there anything I should be looking for? anything that has been brought up in the forums that I may be able to tell if this one has such problems?

Everything that could possibly go wrong gets mentioned here as with most car forums fortunately the majority of issues are with the turbo MCS. Nothing really to be concerned about other than the usual things to look for when buying a preowned car.

excellent! that is why I was leaning into getting her a regular cooper instead of the "s" because its less to worry about and she don't drive fast anyway. Do you happen to know what size of light bulb is needed for the rear fog light? thank you for the link to the OEM part number reference, if you can, can you help me out with the side covers for the trunk? they are two identical pieces, they are on the sides of the rear compartment area. I wish I had my camera to take pics of what I am talking about, thanks for whatever you can help me with....

doh! I just found the part number list through the link you posted. Thank you! How do I know if it has high def radio, or a more upgraded radio system? the options for those covers asks all that.

The rear fog light can't be used without a dealer reprogram which most will claim can't be done or will flat out refuse to attempt it however you can purchase the lens and light bulb to make it more cosmetically pleasing from here. The trunk side covers part #'s can be found here. If you have the upgraded sound system(HI-FI) then there will be tweeters on the front door pillars above the dash.

If those two holes in the back of the car are on the bumper, it could be for the OEM MINI bike rack that attaches thru those holes onto brackets mounted on the bumper. You should be able to see the attachment rods when you look thru the holes. This was an expensive installed option. It should come with little rubber plugs that cover the holes. I'm sure you can get them from MINI.

Good Luck with your purchase!
