Aero kit arches vs. standard arches

anyone know if they are interchangeable?

Long story short, I needed a new bumper to replace my damaged one and I inadvertently bought the aero version. I am now scrambling to find all the pieces I need to make it work before I decide what to do and how much more money to throw at it.

If the arches are the same then I really won't have much to buy so here's hoping...anyone know if I can reuse the standard ones?

I would look at this site....plug in your cars info and check out the options for your MINI's body parts....if they are different parts, there will be additional part numbers.

www.realoem.com

It will break it down for you into part #'s... you need to know your cars mfg date. month/yr.

already have but the aero kit now comes with painted arches so the part number is for primed arches...I just need to know if the fit is identical.

thanks though!

I can't understand why the Aero Kit gives you painted arches on a MCS but not on a MCCS...Now I'm trying to decide if I should paint the arches on my MCCS or not, because i'm not loving the unpainted look.

I wanted to paint mine as well. I spoke to a guy who is a friend of mine and has been doing body work for well over 40 years now. He said even if the color is matched perfectly it will look off because of the way paint adheres to plastic even if it's plastic paint. I tend to believe guys with his kind of experience.

This is what i'm being told as well, which is why i've been dragging my feet in deciding if I should take a chance or not...

It really has grown on me...the plastic, however with your body kit idk if that would still happen. let it stay that way and see how you end up liking it

When i'm bored one day i'll take the car to the shop for them to assess the look and feel of the arch to see what they think..

There is someone on here who painted his black; does not look like plastic and you don't have to worry about color matching.

Just another idea for you to consider.

Here is a link to a thread that provides good before and after pictures:

That looks great because he has the wheels color matched to the arches. I don't plan on adding blacked out wheels to my ride, so I think it might look a little out of place..

i'm pretty sure they are interchangable. my 2007 MCS came with black plastic arches. i bough a set of painted arches from Way Motor Works. he shipped them over and i installed them myself in an afternoon, if you take your time it is a pretty easy install. oh and the color match is perfect even a year later looks like it came that way.
