Retrofitted exhaust tips

Has anybody had their exhaust tip retrofitted because of the recall? My wife actually had her shin burned while unloading groceries last summer. I got the exhaust tips replaced during my last service visit.

They look uglier but not the exhaust note is slightly huskier. Even my wife noticed.

Yes - I don't really notice the difference.

There is a long thread on this here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...yesterday.html

Mine look very much the same after the recall mod; they just don't protrude as much. The difference looks to be a fraction of an inch. I think they actually look a little better this way.

Not sure about the sound.

Meh I had mine done it looks to be about and 3/4" to 1" shorter. It sounds the sam and looks exactly the same. Just do it. Its a free exhaust.

Any pictures? If it looks an inch shorter how does it look exactly the same? I'm confused by your statement.

Don't know about the recall, but I got a nasty burn on my calf last summer from my non-S Cooper tailpipe. So it IS possible for the JustaCooper to turn on you too.

I didn't even notice that they swapped mine out when it was in for service. It's maybe an inch shorter but doesn't protrude beyone the bumper anymore.

Its the same tips and if you haven't done it they stick out from the bumper. If you do it they look a little tucked. And nope I don't have pics. Just do it your not going to notice it enough to really car. Its not a huge difference.

Just the S due to the centered location of the tips.
