I am thinking about having a set of custom wheels made for my Mini, possible DPE, HRE, or Iforged wheels with a staggered offset. I.E. small lip up front and a nice size lip in the rear. In order to accomplish this I am thinking a wide body kit is going to be needed. I would like to put a wide set of wheels in the rear but I have no clue who makes a GREAT quality kit for our new minis. Can some one point me in the right direction? Thanks for any help guys.

i'd suggest getting the widebody first then measuring/speccing out the wheels so that you get the best fitment possible.

 

I 100% agree that this is the only way to do it right. Which is why I am waiting to find out what kits are out there for our minis prior to having the wheels built.

 

I don't even think I've seen any wide body kits similar to the Orciari one they made for the R53. I've only seen three kits for the r56 and they've all been just normal aero type kits.

Perhaps others might, but I wouldn't call the Hamann kit a "widebody".

 

Someone should make a wide body, it would be easily done with the way the fenders already are. I would be interested in donating my car for the guinea pig

no one makes a great widebody kit for the R56 yet, but as far as aero kits, you may have to go overseas to find something besides AC and Hamann. My personal fav; the Duell kit. Check it out (look past the horrible color scheme).

 

there arent any widebody kits on the market for the r56 yet but im planning on developing one in the near future. other than the hamann and ac schnitzer your not gonna find much else and good luck finding a duell kit stateside... trust me ive looked. i found one company that distributes them and as far as i can tell they only have access to the side skirts and a few other random peices and for the price you may just want to go with one of the other two. im not sure where or if they are being produced/sold but you may want to search for the r56 bully kit. other than that there hasnt been much of anything released for the r56

Well, since this has been revived anyway...

I happen to know there is a company working on prototype Carbon Fiber 'widebody' arches. Hopefully, there will be more information coming out shortly.
