Just came back from re-programming! CD player stuck now?

Hi all my windows where playing hacoc !, Upon closing them one or another,Window would hit top of their run, then go back down to half way, or would open way down, then go back up???
Mini Said that they had to reprogram car ??, they had trouble doing this and had to take radio console out to do make this 6 hour job happen.

Car came back, windows ok, But Single CD player has disc stuck inside, I push the eject button, player makes noises, the display says cd error.Disc stays stuck inside

Now dealer is 60 miles away, it agravates me to think that I have to go back there for this only!

Any tricks for freeing discs ??

Not sure there is any coorelation between resetting the windows and the CD player working. There are several threads about resetting the windows by holding the buttons down to reset them (something like 30 seconds). It sounds like the CD player issue is something separate. Just take it back to the dealer (I know, far away) or just call the service dept and see if there is any easy way to eject the CD or to reset the system.

Well service advisor mentioned that they had to take out radio and console because car was not responding to re programming??? probably they just put everything back together without checking if all worked properly???? will have to loose a day for work to be done that was not required before it went in to the shop for something else Grrrr

Many computer CD players have a pin hole in the front (haven't been outside to check my MINI this morning...it's 13 degrees). You push a straightened paperclip in the hole manually to eject a stuck CD. Don't know if our MINIs have a similar mechanism.

It sounds like they did not check to see if a CD was in the player before they disconnected it and removed it. After removing it, they probably turned the CD player upside-down or in some direction it was not designed to be turned, and the CD moved into a position in which it was not designed to be in, getting stuck.

Good to hear they are replacing the CD player!

Not that this relates to the exact problem with your MINI...
I had the same problem with a "burned" CD getting stuck in my '01 Dodge pickup CD player. My sledgehammer fix was to R&R the CD radio with the cassette radio out of my 96 pickup. BUT WAIT! A few months later I decided to bench test the CD radio and sure enough, after powering it up the CD popped out. I use the cassette radio for my mp3 adapter but it looks like a simple battery disconnect would have fixed the problem.

I did not read all the posts, But I had my cd player held onto a CD and did what you mentioned exactly. I had put in a CD that came free in a magazine, I even noticed before I put it in that it was thinner than most CDS. I used a small pair of tweezers and grabbed it whilst in the player and hit eject, Presto, CD came out and no problems since. peter
