Tired of reaching for those back seats to pull them up? I was. And I didn't want to pay $20-30 for a simple strap so I made them on my own. It was cheap and easy and looks like the ones they sell online. Here's how it goes:
1. Find a strap. I used an old backpack strap ( i also conisdered using a strap off my tennis racket bag holder)
2. Cut the strap to make two. Both should have one good end that was the actual end of the strap and the cut end.
3. Drill a hole in the cut end, big enough to fit around the seat headrest post. I burned off the frayed pieces of string with a lighter.
4. place a velcro button on the opposite end ( I had an old velcro kit laying around the house and then glued it on to the strap)
5. Put it on the outside post on the seat headrest and your done! See pics below. Works great. Hope this helps, for those who need to constantly use the back seat for hauling, it sures helps me and was the easiest mod ever!

Good reuse of existing materials.
The straps I bought at gominigo were only $13 + shipping. If people don't have the materials around like you, buying is a good option. I only mention it because I thought this was one of my least expensive purchases and it wasn't $30.

yeah - normally i wouldn't find forking out even $15-30 on my mini a big deal, but sometimes paying money for such simple things as a strap starts getting to me. And trust me, I hate homemade looking things on cars, but this doesn't look homemade to me at all. It's just a strap and I actually feel good every time I use it as it is something I created

I woud like to say if you do not have the time or if you time is worth more than the $13.00 we sell straps for then it all comes down to what you want to do and how you want to spend your time. Also, we have a sale until Christmas they are now $11.70 as set plus shipping. Coupon code is on our main web page www.gominigo.com

We understand the aspect of forking out dollars for something that could be made at home. We have kept our seat straps low because they could be made at home. Our straps are handmade by us not farmed out to a production factory. We are not making alot on these. If someone has the materials, ability and time to make them then by all means I would encourage it.
