Craigs List Mini Scams?

I found this on Criags list in Chicago and Philadelphia. Sure looks like the same car. Sure looks fishy.

I bet if you inquire about it his response will be "Yes, the car is still available.. unfortunately its located in California right now, but if you send me a money order for a down payment (by the way, im working in Hong Kong right now and you will have to send the money order there) I will have my sister ship the car to you.. free of charge!"

Greeeeat.. I hate scammers.

Well, something's up -- I just tried both links out of curiosity, and the Chicago one has been flagged for removal....

I don't care much for Craigslist. I've listed the expensive wheels that came on my MINI, and right away I get a scammer.

The guy acted normal for his first few e-mails, though I thought it was a little strange that he never haggled about price at all!

After he had already FedEx'ed me a certified check, he informed me that he "had to make it out for $2300 more than the purchase price", and he "needs me to Western Union the extra funds to his shipper, so he can come and get the wheels right away".

Yeah, right.
I refused delivery on his check.

They did this on Arizona CL for quite a while . Flagged within minutes and I believe they have stopped and moved on to other states.

You guys are missing out on a great chance to have some fun. I usually go a couple of rounds with some scammer about once a week. The last one was one of those emails...."I'm a Russian dignitary in London and I have prostate cancer and I have eight million English pounds in safe deposit that I would like you to help me distribute...." I emailed him back and told him to take all the money, set it on fire, then shove it up his a$$ and it might cure his prostate cancer*.

*This method is not intended to diagnose, treat, or insult those with prostate cancer.
