R56 Wait times for 2009 MINIs
Wait times for 2009 MINIs
I placed my order for a 2009 MINI about two weeks ago, I was speaking with the representative for Mini North America and he said my order had been "bumped" back a week due to a high volume of orders. He guesstimated my delivery to be some where near Oct 7th... I just cannot wait any longer.... How do I cope!! What are guys getting in terms of wait times???
I believe 37 or something like that? I know he was estimating around week 41 for delivery... I am glad someone else is going through MINI withdrawal
. What are the specs on your MINI is it an S? It seems those 2009's are going fast as the rep said I had gotten the last "slot" for the month. He said he was giving me a conservative estimate which could mean a sooner arrival date.

I ordered a non S, peeper white, black roof and sport stripes, Cold Weather, convenience with the armrest, and a new feature for smart phones, and white turn signals and front and rear fog lights... How about you?
And do you think it would be safe to think of week 42 as my delivery?

I am flattered that you are asking my advice, however I am far from knowledgeable on MINIS. I would say though that would be what I would estimate if I were you. You may want to call "Ask Mini" and get their input as well. I got the laser blue with sport convenience cold weather Navigation system, hifi and sport suspension. With my fave the JCW body kit (that thing is killer)... I tried to get the JCW but I would not be able to get any cool options
. I am happy with my choice though. Your ride sounds sweet, I have always liked the peeper white color, I was thinking about it myself. Pray to the MINI gods that our cars come faster!!!

Six weeks is about right...that's been pretty normal for awhile now.
Good luck w/ that...the time goes soooooo slooooowwwww.
Advanced coping skills will be required. Many on NAM give lessons...and there is an entire school of whining!!!

Congrats to both of you on getting a Mini
. Where are you guys located? East Coasters got their Minis much quicker than West Coasters (by about 2 weeks, based on the ocean transportation distance).
Well, just like most of us on here, we are painfully waiting for our MINIs.
In the meantime you can join the support groups for each production week in the First gear forum and look for your respective production week.
Enjoy the wait, guys.

Ordered a 2008 on 7/12, dealer could not get a slot so it became a 2009. Went into production this week with a completion date of 9/6. So I guess delivery about middle of October as it has to come to the West Coast. So it will be about 3 months total when I finally get the car.
60-90 days for us on the west side of America, but the boat ride is longer. and the wait is longer if U ordered yr 2009 in early aug before the factory went on its annual mtce and vacation hiatus, because this is the first week the factory is running full-steam on 09s.
good news its a much more efficient build and ship process than 4-5 years ago, where I waited 7 months just to get a build slot, then another 3 after that to get the car, which had to dodge two tropical storms and a hurricane to get to Oxnard.
And 10 months is nothing. Some folks in dealer-starved markets (NW) waited as long as 2 1/2 years for their precious R53s.

Try waiting until at least December because of the darn Sport Package!!! So, I'm looking at Febuary delivery now solely because of that package... and no, I don't want to order things a la carte, I guess I just have to wait. And because of the wait, I've practically lived on NAM, so I guess it helps their business. They probably have 10,000 hits just off my IP address.
What is the number to call Ask Mini? I ordered a Mini S on 8/18/08 and I don't see where the owners lounge tells you what week production it will be. The status just says "on order". Although I do have a production number.
Can I join the waiting game as well? Another VA order here. I ordered two nights ago (so recent that the OL still says I'm getting a sparkling silver MCS) I was told by Crown MINI of Richmond that I could expect about 7-8 weeks with a production slot set for week 40 (last week of September). I'm pretty pleased with that considering what I read on here.
Start one. I'm week 40 and I don't see one of those either. Maybe it's too soon. It seems like a long way off.
There are both Week 38 and 40 Support groups over in 1st Gear. You might have to go to page 2, but join in and keep them near the top of page 1. I will agonize with my fellow week ##ers once I get my production number. Even though the wait will be torture, it will also be a lot of fun.
