How long should I expect the 17" summer compound run-flats to last

I'm trying to decide if I should start looking for a winter set of wheels or it they are anything like the summer tires on my 911 which are eaten up between 7500-10000 miles. I have 4000 miles right now, and if I only drive the mini I can easily put that many on for work before winter and then I can put on all-seasons going forward.

How did I wind up in this situation...I wanted the nicer rim option available when you upgrade the sport package, but they only came in summer tires.

I realized I need to address this when I was moving a few sets of winter wheels for my other cars around in my loft over the weekend and it occured to me I have to start thinking about the mini and winter.

Just a data point.
I am having my RFTs (18" Z rated) replaced today on my '07 BMW 530i6 at 27K miles.
That might be a new record.

I could have squeezed a few more dry miles out of them, but they were getting scary in the wet.

Well if your 17's are anything like my 16's they'll last about 12k of spirited driving and one track event. I'm at ~9k right now and have started looking for replacements.

My 16's fitted with the Dunlop performance run flats have 13,000 miles on them and I cannot tell there is any wear on the damn things!!

Why upset? I want to ditch the runflats as soon as they wear out! ARRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

The one track day pretty much killed mine. Do yourself a favor and go to one. They're not only fun but good at destroying runflats.

I have Goodyears btw.

I do mostly freeway with some spirited weekends (no track days yet ) and recently broke 39,000 on the runflats that came with the car- I'm down to about 2/16ths up front and 5/16ths in the back.

Depends on your drive. I get about 8k miles on front tires (RF and non-RF). My commute is 20 minutes of twisty mountain road.

i dont know cuz i hear bunch of different numbers, but im at about 9k miles on the stock 17" run flats and ive already rotated the front to the back at like 5k and you can see the tread wear lines on both the front and rear tires, i mean yeah i drive the car hard but my last car had 20" wheels on it and i drove that truck like there was no tomorrow, a lot harder than i drive my mini and i still got way more mileage out of them then these pos's

I have about 5,000 miles and 1 track event on my dunlop RFTs. So far the tread on front and back looks nearly new.

maybe im driving too hard...you think daily drifting will cause significant wear on the tires?

My stock Dunlop performance run-flat front tires will soon need to be replaced at around 12,000 miles. The car hasn't seen the track yet, but I drive it aggressively whenever possible. The tires have never been rotated by the way.

My 16s with the Dunlop performance run flats still looked good at 13,000 miles, too, but by 18,000 they were toast!

That's good to hear shaker! I can hardly wait untilt they wear out so I can replace them. The noise from those tires is deafening at times.
