Chrome Exterior

I didn’t want the chrome line exterior package since I didn’t want chrome mirrors, but where could I order the chrome ring that goes around the lower grill?

Good question. I didn't want the chrome mirrors either, but I did like the lower front and rear (Clubman S) chrome trim.

It is probably going to be a cheaper option to order the package and change the mirror caps. There are always some available as people change out their caps often
It’s like the retro fit chrome line interior it almost doubles to retrofit it

One thing to note, I don't know if this applies to the S but it does apply to the Cooper.

You can get the chrome piece for the lower grill. But the chrome pieces for the fog lights do not fit unless you bought the chrome exterior package from the start. I tried the buy the chrome surrounds for the fog lights and the bumper is actually different for chrome versus non chrome. At least that is the info I got from my dealer.

seems like it's popular for people to replace their chrome trim w/ black trim. ...you guys may want to post a "want-ad" on this site for the chrome trim?

Chome package swap the mirrors is the easiest solution, that's what we got with Quentin. Our MA swapped the mirrors with another MINI on the lot while we were waiting to pick him up.

I'm swapping mirrors, too. Ordered the chrome exterior (and interior) and the dealer's going to swap out the caps for black ones.

Saw a dark silver on the road the other day with red mirror caps.

I asked the same question on a thread about a week ago and nobody freakin replied. You can go to the MINI Dealer and order it. When I described it to him he found the diagram and I pointed it out. Here in Vegas he quoted me $96 and a 3 day delivery. I am going to have my fiance install it because they want $150 for labor. I love that look.

Georgia,

Sorry, but I am confused as to what, exactly, you are ordering. What chrome pieces are you getting? Trim for the Front, rear, foglights? I looked at my dealer's website accessory page and didn't see anything about it.

And are you talking about including this as part of a new car order, or as an aftermarket add on?

Thanks, Rich

If you look at the 08 MCS there are 2 grilles in the front. There is the top one that has chrome but the bottom one is all black with no chrome. If you look at the chrome package mcs the lower grille is trimmed with chrome. Framing the boring black grille. I didn't get the chrome pack cause I didn't want the mirrors to be chrome. Now I should have cause I like the chrome hood scoop, chrome trunk lid, etc. So the part I am talking about is on the lower front grille. Tell the parts people it's part of the chrome package deal. I guess there are some chrome parts you can buy seperately.

I believe this is true. I noticed that there is a lip, or channel for the chrome bezel on the fog lamps. The bumpers with or without fog lamps, but no chrome, do not have the lip.

I bought the chrome ext.package and the dlr switched out the mirror caps to white for me
( he let me keep the chrome caps as a repeat customer). Never hurts to ask.
