Going to place our order and need some help.

Going to place our order this weekend on a Oxygen Blue, gray/black leatherette seats, piano black, anthracite headliner, no sun roof - those are our constants. Our variables are as follows: standard color line versus dark gray color line and/or chrome interior versus no chrome interior. Appreciate your thoughts/input here. Thanks for your help - all of you have been so very helpful.

P.S. With the PDC (another variable, although leaning towards getting it) does it beep every time you put the car in reverse?

You need to see the dark gray colorline at a dealer to make a good choice. It looks lighter in the configurator, which can't be right.

The PDC only starts beeping when you approach an obstacle. The closer you get the faster it beeps. If you have the NAV, there is a nice graphic showing where the object is.

i would go with teh interior chrome it will help break up all the black useage. also i might think about the white colour line to help break up the black also and contrast with it. otherwise you have have grey against black.

I second the chrome line interior. I think it adds a nice touch to the interior.

Count another vote for the chrome interior (also easier to clean), and the white color line would be a nice contrast. That's my $0.02.

I opted against the PDC figuring (from reading posts here) that the back window is pretty much the end of the car, so it should be easy to park based on that alone.

I got the PDC only because it shows a little graphic in the nav screen. I just like toys.

I have chrome interior and it looks sharp around the speedo, tach, vents, etc. I like it. And the chrome has gotten compliments from other MINI motorers, like at MTTS Boston.

If you find a difference between the standard color line and the dark grey color line interior, please share it. I scratch my head over the *slightly* lighter color of the dark grey option in the configurator... but that's all I have to go on because the one dealer in my state is pretty sparse when it comes to the show floor.

I wish I knew what the $250 buys you.

Super advice/input so far - thanks for taking your time to respond/share! Chrome interior appears to be a winner.

If you want cruise control, make sure you have MFSW. If it is an order for an 09 DSC should now be standard, that also should be a constant in any order.

One thing you might consider is oak dash and wheel, of course then I'd ditch the chrome with that and have a more subdued look.

I decided to go with the standard color line (dealer said Dark Gray was a little lighter) and no chrome line. I wanted as few different colors as possible, and since chrome line doesn't get rid of ALL the silver, I said no.

I drove a MCS last week that had the oak dash and it really seemed out of place.
