Hey guys my car is suppose to be at the dealer today , so browsed the new vechicahle on there page,,,,,there i see a red mini With my vin number for sale, sale trick not sure.... but getting dressed to drive up there anywhays...

I often wonder about dealer's online listings. Mini of Sterling (Virginia) always has a lot online, but when I asked them if they had those specific cars, they answered via email with "We are only accepting orders via Miniusa.com".

I think they post all MINIs. When I was shopping for mine, I would note one or two that fit my liking on a dealers web site only to find out that those were customers special orders and not available for sale. Your Safe, looks like it's time to pick up your new car though!

Dealerships will add your VIN to the inventory so they can order accessories for your car ahead of time.

If they order parts and dont have a stock number assigned to it, they risk the chance of the parts department selling your parts and then you will have to wait longer to get your new car while the parts are coming in.

I have witnessed people getting pissed about the online inventory. I was picking up my car and this lady and her husband came in with a printout of the inventory. She said, we would like to look at these 3 models. The salesman said, sorry those are all customers cars. We have no cars for you to drive.

man oh man, that couple went off the deep end.. It was humorous to watch, but i understood their problem.

We (Ellen and I) have been tracking Me'lo to delivery... MINI of Sterling listed our car on line in their inventory as of 7/15 when it came in from the NJ VDC... the on line inventory will show every MINI they get delivered regardless if it is sold which in their case means every 2008 that they get is pre sold. We took delivery today of Me'lo so one falls off their on line inventory... here are a few pics of our Me'lo just from today and when we drove it home this evening. MINI of Sterling has been most excellent to deal with and seems that the oddity of InterNet listings is not WHAT is available to purchase but rather WHAT comes into their inventory regardless if it is pre sold or not (and 'not' is not the case with MINIs around here since they are pre sold to the point they have no more allocations for M2008 and have only 2 used 2006 MINIs available)...

The front with the JCW grille but not with stripes yet (doing ourselves with a local company...sorta custom and that is next week) and NO front plate bracket
