Anyone know what these engine codes mean? I'm told that they changed for 2007, so 1st Gen codes may be different.

27AC
2786
2B64
E18F

Thanks.

Are these codes from reading the ECU?

They are OBDII engine light error codes.

"P2786 Gear Shift Actuator Temperature Too High"

umm, well it's not likely a normal "P" code in the common OBDII usage. I do recall seeing odd esoteric codes like yours when I plugged my Auterra into some strangely behaving R56's in the past. My only guess is BMW is inventing codes on the DL and not giving anyone but the service techs the decoder ring.

Thanks. The body shop reported getting these codes after an engine light came on. They were test driving it after repairs (tipped it over onto the driver-side door).

It has been sitting with the battery disconnected for a longtime. The service dept. at MINI of Mountain View is still on strike, so an independent MINI/BMW garage looked at it and cleared the codes. They came back, were cleared again and don't seem to be coming back. They are running a series of test drives on it.

For the 27AC code they said something about DMPC and fuel injection, but didn't know what the others were.

Braked late for a decreasing radius S curve, causing the tail to come around. Over-corrected (tail came around the other way) and ran out of room to correct. The nose went into a dirt bank. I thought it was done, but it slowly tipped over on its side.

Since you seem to be from around here, that wouldn't be the 85->237 ramp would it?

No, Carmel Valley Road a little west of Cachagua Road. It is out in the sticks. Took the CHP more than a half hour to get there in spite of the car blocking the road. He was at the other end of his area. Friends just happened by on their way to a vacation and directed traffic.

How about DSC?

I could imagine that it would have prevented that first 'skid'
but could that have sent you off the first edge of the road at a greater speed?

Seems that it was more than DSC could correct.
