What are the most popular MINI Cooper Option packages?

Hello:

I'm just curious, what are the popular mini cooper option packages? Is there a website that contains this info?

I can see the following being popular options:
premium package
cold weather
ipod adapter
bonnet stripes

What about:
convenience package
xenon headlamps
sports suspension

Just curious...

I'm getting ready to order and the only option I'm considering from your list is cold weather.

Get the premium, sport and headlights. You won't regret it.

I think I would regret all of those.

I wouldn't want a sunroof (Premium Package) because it adds weight to the top of the car, lets in too much heat, and cannot be easily blocked out when desired.

I'm happy with the stock suspension's balance between ride comfort and handling, and think the factory 17" wheels are much too heavy. DSC is the only part of the package worth getting, IMO.

I have the Xenon headlights and don't like them for country roads.

The packages are really a matter of personal taste.

The items that I recall coming up most often as "...regret not getting..." are:

Anthracite Headliner
Rear Fog Lights
Clear turn signals.

No Doubt that the 'Super' Turbocharger in the Cooper S would be the absolutely Most Popular option for the MINI.

For my style of driving, it had been needed on the LeBaron Convertible (and would also have been a 'must-have' for the new PT Cruiser Convertible)
but the 'justacooper' did just fine (and was preferred) for me with its 120 HP Engine.

Cruise Control is one option that could be overlooked by some purchasers, it is not high on test drive 'checkouts'
and it is not obvious on order site that you don't get it without MFS.

The Sunroof and the Automatic are 'must--have' for perhaps half of buyers and 'must--NOT--have' for the other half.

For me, it was a choice between Sunroof or Cabrio and since I would not accept the '08 w/CVT (not to mention all the other R56 improvements),
I would still be waiting to purchase a MINI. It took that fabulous 'Panoramic' Sunroof to wean me off many years of Convertibles.

I can still remember when Driving just did not feel like Driving with an Automatic, but 36 years ago, Driving became the best way to get to the Airport

It was such a surprise to me, how much I disliked 'shifting' that Super Cooper that I drove first, that I never even noticed the lack of Cruise Control.

As
for that Convenience Package, my Garage Door/Light control is on my key ring and I would prefer to just have a similar 'FOB' for the MINI lock/windows control
and have a Regular KEY to Start the car.

My MINI Cooper is the best way to get to the airport, what I did not expect, is how much more pleasant FLYING has become,
knowing that it will end with another ride in my MINI!

The Premium has the sunroof. I considered it for resale purposes but I hate the one in my 330 and haven't opened the shade since my first month of ownership. It just seems like wasted money for me and I can't completely block out the heat/light.

I'm considering sport but may just go with aftermarket wheels so that may be a waste for me as well. I love the xenon's in my 330 and $500 seems like a bargain but I'm thinking about getting the driving lights. Not sure how the 2 would mix.

Our priorities were: #1 the automatic tranny, so my wife can drive it. #2 the sport package, so I wasn't deathly bored of the car, #3 a light color, so we would be visible in a sea of SUVs here in SoCal. We ended up buying a car off the lot with a sport package, the Tuscan Beige leather, and the Oak dashboard. I'm really happy with the interior, it has a much more organic feel to it, rather than the "industrial" stylings of the darker interiors. Problem is the light-colored arm rest is showing dirt; I might have to drape something over it to keep it clean.

The only thing I wanted from the convenience package was the Ipod adaptor. They're pretty expensive when installed outside of the package, so I'm doing without and using the standard Aux input jack. I agree with pigbat, I don't like sunroofs; they always seem to better at letting heat in than anything else.

The sport package is not only special wheels, but also better suspension, so it may not be a total waste when you get those aftermarkets.

I have the cold weather package and convenience package. I always liked Xenons. The keyless entry is neat but could do without, I can keep the keys in my pocket and unlock the door with a button on the door. Haven't used the heated seats but come winter it should be nice.

Also the universal programmable garage remote I like, it's practical. We have a limited amount of units but we could always just buy another one. But it's cool that it's integrated in the car.

I didn't think the sports suspension and rims were worth it for the sports package
