Purchased my MINI today!

Well, I went car shopping today. I was cross-shopping the MINI with Mazda3 and Volkswagen GTI. Well, to cut a long story short, I test drove the MINI at MINI of San Antonio and I fell in love with it. I wasn't even planning on buying this weekend, but I ended up putting a deposit down on it and it will be here in 6-8 weeks. Now I know what all you MINI owners were talking about...

I can't wait!

I got a PW/B automatic (I don't know how to drive stick, nobody taught me ) and I got Punch Black Leather, Aluminum Trim, Dark Grey Colour Line, Automatic AC, DSC, White Turn Signals, Rear Fogs, and that's about it.

MINI of San Antonio was so busy... they only had one Cooper S up for test driving, as all the others were bought. I drove it only for ten minutes, but it was just amazing. These next eight weeks will be the longest of my twenty year life. The smile wouldn't come off my face!

Congrats on the purchase, and hope the weeks fly by for you. A friend of mine recently got a PW/B and loves it. Cool creamy color.

Oops, totally forgot to list that... I'm still quite excited. It is a Cooper S, with Xenons... I drove a car once with Xenons, and now basic halogens just don't feel right anymore!

A hellish wait indeed... I'm already impatient, and it has only been five hours!

Oh goodie...glad you ordered exactly the MINI you want. That way you don't have to miss out on the experience of waiting, of having your mind turn to mush and run out your ears all over the floor!!! Oooo, and alienating your friends by incessantly talking about MINIs...very good stuff. Life on NAM just wouldn't be the same w/o you dear, crazed, barely coherent folks who are waiting for MINIs. This way you'll fit in much better with us dear, crazed, barely coherent folks who are already motoring. Enjoy the kool-aid and have fun with the torture!!!!!

Well done, Welcome to the land of MINI. As Mr. Kart says, we hear it everyday on NAM, so please continue to enjoy, worry and obsess.

A requirement is for you to track your MINI every minute of the day and night. Don't forget to post pictures when it arrives or we won't believe you really ordered your MINI.

Do I understand, you ordered a MINI and your 20 years old? That is a major accomplishment, congratulations again.

A Cooper S PW/B with the Automatic is a fine base to start your mod list and youification (not really a word, yet).

The Mini's stick is like 'butter.'
It'll be an easy thing to learn.
Any friends have a farm tractor you can drive?

If your paperwork had an Order Number on it, you may be able to access the MiniUSA.com Owners Lounge and track your baby.
Follow up with your dealer if you don't have the number.

I can't either! It has been a crazy busy time since high school, but it's worth it! The dealer didn't take me seriously at first... I guess it is strange seeing a twenty year old walking into a BMW dealership.

I'll be purchasing a camera soon, and I just got off Alta's website to try out some of that Prima stuff people here seem to rave about! I also purchased a Stubby antenna in anticipation for my MINI... yikes, is that sad or what?

Pictures will be posted pronto. It'll be replacing my 1992 Mazda Protege.

EDIT: My dad is going to teach me how to drive stick when I see him next (on his heavily modified 2008 Mustang GT). We'll see how that goes, and I'm sure my next car will be a stick. It looks mighty fun!

Welcome to our world. You will love it. Don't fret with the automatic. I'm on my 3rd mini in less than 4 months and the first two were sticks.

There is no way I'd ever buy a slushbox, well, that was until I took one for a test drive for shiets and giggles. I was going to go buy a clubman and while I was waiting for it to return from a test drive, I took an automatic S for a test drive.

Needless to say, my '08 S is an automatic. Wow is all I can say. It gets great gas mileage, performs like crazy and I don't have to keep shifting. Shifting was never an issue but after getting stuck in traffic at the beach for almost 3 hours, an automatic is the way to go.

Again, congrats on the car, post pics when you get him/her.

Mark

Awesome, that should be fun to learn stick on

Like others have said, don't sweat it re: not having standard, the paddle shifters are super fun, just make sure you don't get lazy and leave it in "D"

Congratulations and have fun tracking your MINI overseas

11 weeks! I thought my eight weeks was bad!

I had my wife's mother cosign the financing for me, otherwise, I'd be looking at a really high rate (no credit history... I turned twenty a couple weeks ago!)

So thankfully, with her rate, I was able to choose some goodies such as the navigation. How could I ever repay her?

Oh yeah... I know... now my wife wants a MINI!
