Used MINI question

I'm looking at a used 2007 MCS at a local dealership. Is there a code on the door thats says if the car has the Limited slip differential?

I would think the vin would have that info in it. You can also give that number to a MINI dealer and they can pull up the build sheet. This would have all the info you need.

Hope your getting a good price on it, as there was a recent Forbes article stating that used 2007 MINIs have increased in price 12% this year alone.

nope. no it shouldn't.

get the VIN and call MINIUSA at 866-ASK-MINI and they should be able to tell you everything that's on the car.

good luck!

Thats for the Automated Stability Control, not the Limited Slip Differential. The r56 also has that but its on a button by the gear shift. The differential only has 2 options, either the standard open differential, or the Limited Slip differential. If you get the LSD, thats what you get you have no option to change it without pulling apart the transmission and stuff.

From what I have heard is that people that have DSC and LSD just turn off the DSC because they hate it and the LSD functions much better. Also, since the LSD is a $500 option I'm sure that if you have it, it would be clearly listed on your window sticker. But if you have a question as to how its listed definitely call MINI, I called them a few days ago and they are super helpful and really nice.

I have LSD and DSC and I leave the DSC turned on. To turn off DSC you've got to be thinking you can control your car better than the computer can, even in unexpected situations. In expected situations, the DSC can get in the way, but the new ones are much more permissive than the old ones were (or else I've beaten it into submission), it never gets in my way any more, though it flashes at me to tell me its helping from time to time. If and when I'm caught off guard it could very well save my neck.

Hmmm. The one that you are looking at is Lighting Blue not laser blue. Yup. For that price, I would rather buy new!
