ummm, again, why?
you could have bought a "real" bra for the price of the tape, and saved about 3 hrs of install time
I just hope it dosent get to hot where your going. add another 3 hrs of glue removal

Yup, just a quick 500 miles total...from SF bay area to Lake Tahoe area.

It's just painter's tape, helps protect against paint chips on the highway, which are easy to obtain when driving up in the mountains. Overly cautious? Maybe. It only took about 20 minutes and cost me less than $5, so no harm done. I don't usually drive long distances so this did the trick. Looks pretty funny though.

Side note: was playing around with a guy on a sportbike on a very unpopulated road on the way up. I was keeping up with him thru the turns-he kept looking back and shaking his head as if he didn't understand how I was still there. We then got side by side at which point he pointed at the car, gave me a thumbs up, and then took the next exit. Good times!

LOL...by the time you survive 77k, you won't care about the small stuff...just watch out for the spare tires and mufflers along the way...

Sounds like a fun trip, and the Smurf nose did the trick. But are you sure the biker was shaking his head because the MINI kept up with him, or was it perhaps befuddlement over the nose? Whatever the case, thumb's up is thumb's up and your MINI had to have generated a lot of stares.

Your cover has to be eccentric by even MINI standards, and we are a quirky eccentric bunch.

Pretty sure it was the former, considering the speed we were going and him pretty obviously trying to get away from me

ngweibing, I'm guessing the tape won't hold up for more than one road trip, as mine is peeling already..probably not a winter-long solution.

trust me when I say, do not leave ANY kind of tape on a vehicles paint job for an extended period of time. the glue will adhere to the paint, and the tape will become brittle, and you will spend days removing glue, or worst, end up having the body shop remove it for you to repaint the car.

I own a vehicle customizing shop here in AZ and in the summer with a car inside my shop at 80% the tape can leave a residue after a week of being on a vehicle.

I now take all tape off immediatelly after it's intended use.

If your that worried about the paint being chipped, get a clear bra, they are around 100 bucks and you barely see them.

You only kept up b/c he was a $hitty driver! Your mini had nothing to do with it. He sucked bigtime.

They do...it's called "crepe tape" used by the box load for taping drawings in auto design and photo studios...they come from 1/8" all the way to 10" wide rolls...
