Vin Number-Determine all features

I purchased a 2007 Mini Cooper from BMW of Fairfax dealership. The car has 1400 miles on it, owned by one person since June 07.

I studied the Cooper before buying. I'm curious to know all the features on my car. They were not listed for my particular car. The salesman was very helpful but because they are not a cooper dealer, he had limited resources. Although I can't see any of the features, I'm wondering if it is wired for Ipod, bluetooth, etc.

Is there anyway to take the VIN number and determine all the options that came with the car? Is that something only a dealer can provide?

Thank
Pat

Pat I don't know how much this will help out with your questions but here is a MINI VIN decoder.

http://www.sjbaker.org/telamom/vin.html

Now if no one on NAM can answer your questions most likely the dealership can run the VIN # and see what your MINI Cooper is equipped with.

Locust, stop in to your nearest Mini Dealer.
Let them know you're looking at having THEM service the vehicle in the future. Politely request any vehicle info they have.
I did this with a BMW, and Mini IS a BMW division.

I would first try calling the BMW dealer and asking the name of the MINI dealer that imported the car. Then call them and see if they have a record on what it came with.

If that fails, I'd try 866-ASK-MINI. Give them your VIN and see if they can help.

According to that I have a convertible. Perhaps the code numbers are different for 2nd gen minis.

Campers, a VIN decoder site does NOT list the vehicle's features.

Also...I'm not sure if this works, but you can try creating an account at the Owners' Lounge. IIRC you have to eneter a VIN to register. Once you're in you can get the order detail.

Drew, very devious! I like that idea.
If the previous owner didn't set up a profile, you might be able to!

Still, contacting any Mini Dealer and requesting the info is easy.

A dealership should be able to pull up the information on it. I know our service tech at our local dealership was able to pull up information on all the used MINIs I was looking at. They can also tell you if any repair work was completed. It's all in a national database, so the dealership shouldn't matter.

If you have any problems getting information, feel free to PM me the VIN and I'll contact our service tech to get the info for you. Good luck!

Hi folks,
I purchased a 2007 Mini Cooper from BMW of Fairfax. The car has 1400 miles on it. They could not run a features report for me. Just an FYI. I tried getting a report for my car (determining all the features) from miniusa. They said no and referred me to the dealer. I tried the dealer that sold the car. Mini of Towson. The general manager could not help me.
Very frustrating. There is a nice guy in Germany providing reports in this forum.

Would like to find mine too. Not available on the Owners site... any ideas? I got no idea what exactly options were in 06 nor what are all on the car I just bought. I can figure out a few. But options change from year to years so...

I know I don't have a second gen but found this on a search and its same subject
