The plant is or will be closed due to fuel strikers... Wonder if this will delay anyone's delivery or build?

Couple of threads about it already, pushed my completion date back two days. Might miss the Courage, which pushes me back another week.

Don't they know MINI isn't a Gas Guzzler?

These are kind of the strikers you don't want for your Union.

 

I will take the delay because I believe it's for a good cause. The spanish tax is minimum 18% and some areas as high as 48% which pushes their gas as high as $10.50 a gallon.

 

If it's left up to certain envro politicians here in the US it will soon be that way here too.

 

They're not striking specifically because of MINI.

 

The UK pretty much pays the most for fuel, period.
They're about 1.92 x the world average, while the US sits about 0.77 x the world average.
If you're trying to do the math yourself by looking at their local papers, keep in mind that the rest of the world uses the Imperial gallon, while the US has it's own (1.2 x smaller) gallon. 4.546 is litres in an imperial gallon. 3.785 is litres in a US gallon

Sure they pay a ton more for fuel in the UK and it's incredibly hard to get your drivers license, but they have some great roads, reasonable traffic, good drivers, and a thriving motorsports scene. Aside from the 1984-ish use of cameras everywhere, I'd gladly swap for their roadways & fuel prices.
