Opinions please on this build suggestion...

08 MCS

CR/B with black stripes
White turn signals
Performance package
Cold Weather Package
DSC
LSD
Rear Fogs
Leatherette seats
Anthracite Headliner
Interior Surface Fluid
MFSW

$25900 before TTL

Questions I have are regarding Xenons and sport suspension
Also wondering about BRG/W - I'm not sure that I want to spend the x-tra $500

Thanks

Ship it! Sounds pretty close to my build. Not sure if the Performance package is really the Premium or Convenience package.

I had always wanted Xenons, so those were a must for me. If you don't have a strong preference, I'm sure that the halogens are fine. Sport suspension can be added aftermarket later if you feel the need.

My only warning on BRG is that it is a metallic green, so really it's Bavarian instead of British. This minor detail pushed me into DS/W...what can I say, there's some traditions that should just not be messed with!

By turning down the BRG, you are missing out on the extra 10 HP that BRG provides . The only thing I'd question here is the rear fog light. I considered it and decided against it. Here in Texas we don't get enough fog to even really justify the front fog lights and I couldn't see getting the rear. I figured I'd probably only use it once or twice in the 10+ years I'll probably have this car. True it's only $100, but for me it was throwing money away.

I got bored of the sunroof pretty quick; too noisey. It's a fast car and the hole in the roof was only fun while going slow. I kept my tin-top and traded the other for a Jeep (which is fun to drive slow).

So I'd drop the Premium and add JCW suspension & MFSW. Something like that.

And the BRG is definately faster.

However, the BRG "definitely" doesn't help one spell better.

How do you plan on using the MINI? Track days, autocross, everyday driving, these things will determine the need for/against the sport suspension or possibly an upgrade to the JCW suspension package. The Xenon llights are a must have. The rear fog finishes off the lower panel and makes it look complete.

I would like to get some performance driving instruction but I'm not sure that I would take on the track much at all

Probably have significant enough fog about 4-5 times a year. More importantly I don't like those place-holders that remain without the fogs.

I'd suggest you spend the $500 on aftermarket springs and a rear sway bar. The car will look better and handle as good as, if not better than, a MINI with the OEM SS.

If you like the red reflectors in the rear valence, order the fogs. I have CR too and prefer the all black look down there.

I like my xenons. They, CR, and LSD were my must haves.

Talk to Graham at MINI of Pittsburgh, contact someone from PittStop MINI and then spend a day at BeaveRun. No matter how you decide to use your MINI you owe it to yourself to do 1 track day to learn the capabilities of your car. You will love every minute of it.
I'm on my second MINI, have done a dozen track days and have a MINI similar to what you want to order.
PM me if you need any other information.
