16" R90 Wheel Photos?

I'm ordering my car next week, and desperately need to see what 16" R90 wheels look like on a 2007/2008 Mini. I've scoured all of the other threads, but came up with nothing but a bunch of older R53 Minis that had R90 wheel knock-offs.

If anyone has photos of their R56 MC / MCS with 16" R90's, I would LOVE to see them on a real car (vs. the Mini website configurator).

I will send you cash......

Thank you!

Thank you. I really was looking for pics of the 16" to see how they look sitting on the car and in the wheel wells. Are the R90 16's heavy in compare to the R90 17's? I'm guessing yes, based on the cost difference!

The search continues......

Actually...my guess is that the 16's weigh substantially less than the 17's since they are one piece AND smaller. The two-piece construction adds to the weight of the 17s.

I LOVE MY R90-16s!!! They are heavy but I think they are a great alternative to getting 17s and the bumpier ride they (17s) give. Plus the 16s are easier to clean.

You happen to be in luck, I just washed her this morning:

Question: Are they a b*tch to clean and keep clean? with all those extra nooks and crannies, I'm thinking yes. What do you use to keep 'em clean?

I love how they look on your car.....

Thanks. Glad I could help!

They're not that hard to clean (there aren't as many nooks and crannies as the 17s). Keeping *any* MINI wheels clean could be a daily chore because of all of the brake dust. I wash them once every 1-2 weeks with simple green or Maguires soap. No scrubbing necessary just a quick, thorough wash.

  2. Did the rims come with the car from Oxford, or did the dealer order & install them?
  3. Do you know if the sport suspension that came with your sport package actually lowers the stance of the car at all? It looks like your car sits a little lower than a lot of other MCS's that I've seen.
Thanks again for running out and taking the pics for me (my wife spotted the date stamp!). Your car looks great!

1. They are the performance tires. I didn't think I needed all-seasons here in socal.
2. I had to order the R90s as a separate accessory. They showed up at the dealer in boxes and were waiting for me when I took delivery of my car. I ordered 16" Bridgespokes and those came on the car from the factory then I drove over to my BIL's tire shop and he swapped them. I ended up selling the Bridgespokes to a member here on NAM.
3. My car is an '07 so mine didn't come with sport suspension as part of the sport package. That was a change for '08. The stance you see is factory stock. Oh BTW, mine is a Justa (just an MC, not MCS )

No prob for the pics. I don't need much of an excuse for taking pics of my car!

Sport suspension doesn't lower the car

Also, please let us all know exactly what the specs for your order will be. PLEASE tell me it will be Lightning Blue/White!

WOW! Didn't even realize that yours wasn't an S; you've got it tricked out very nicely. I'd give anything to drive a MC up the PCH to S.F. Now THAT would be a blast.

Noticed that your son seems to really enjoy the car judging by the looks on his face in the photos. Reminds me of how excited I used to get when my folks bought a new car & we'd go to pick it up. I'll bet you that he never forgets the day that you picked up your Mini....PURE EXCITEMENT!

Post some pics of the back & interior some time....I'd love to see the rest of the car. And thank you again for all of your help...you've made my buying decision a LOT easier!

My son LOVES my car and cars in general especially exotics and 70s muscle cars and hopes to own a convertible one day. We went through the MINI ordering, waiting, pick up experience together and has brought us even closer together. We go motoring on the local canyon roads on Sunday mornings and try to get lost. Very good times!

The interior is bone stock and very plain aside from the Nuvi and Kuda mount but I love it. I'll try to get some photos. There is a thread in here some where that has a ton of interior photos.

Again, let us know your specs so we can tell you what a great car it will be.
