Anyone have pics of a Laser Blue S?

First time posting here, what a relief to know that there is a forum that I can ask questions about Mini's!! Yesterday I ordered my first Mini, and drove to many dealers to look at different colors. I wanted something that showed off the lines of the car, and felt that the darker colors were not the way to go for me. I finally chose Laser blue with white top and stripes, Sport, Premium, Comfort, 6 speed manual, LSD, and a bunch of smaller items, but now I don't have a good feeling about the Laser blue, being in my 40's and male, now thinking the color is too quirky....or is it? Can I get some honest feedback before it goes into production, and does anyone have any pics of their Laser Blue? (There were not many cars out there to look at) Thanks!!!

Just how much lighter is laser blue than lightning blue. I am planning to order lightning blue... I think I saw it at the dealer, looked beautiful. Found laser blue pictures in the forum but they vary in darkness from pale blue to close to lightning blue.

Any laser or lightning blue owners think they could have ordered the other one after living with it.

I like a richer blue color but not bordering on black.

A few weeks ago I ordered my MCS in pure silver w/ black roof. The waiting sucks. :-)

Lightning blue was a very close 2nd choice for me. It happens that a gentleman was taking delivery of his MCS in Lightning Blue w/ white roof and white hood stripes. He had the tuscan beige leather interior w/ matching wheel and shifter. I have to say it that it is a very sharp look. I'll likely do something like that for my next MINI.

The laser blue is nice but a touch light for my taste. By the way - there are a few 2007 MCS on cars.com and autotrader etc w/ low mileage at good asking prices.

Anyway - it will be your car so only you need to be happy w/ it. It was a blast picking out all my options and tweaking things back and forth. Remember to bargain hard if you buy a new one. It seems likely that you can get $1000 off msrp, plus some extras.

I'm pretty sure the middle picture you've posted as Lightning Blue is, in fact, another Laser Blue.

Lots of pics in this thread:

I have a Laser with Silver roof clubman on order as I enjoy being seen from miles away. There are some pics of that combo here:

Part of the beauty of the laser blue is that it has a different tone to it depending on lighting. I got the laser blue even though all my friends and family told me to get the lightning blue . However, once I actually got the car, they started to like it more and more.

The laser blue is a lot a lot a lot lighter than the lightning, but like the previous poster said, it changes with different lighting conditions, thus making it appear lighter and darker in some situations. Trust me, you'll love the laser blue as much as I did!

Another Laser and Lightning ... ???

Now according to some, there is a car in each of these pictures. Personally, I can't find it, but I'm not all that good w/ those "Find Elmo" things.

The Laser Blue almost feels like BMW's Laguna Seca Blue color they had on the E46 M3s.
My wife's Mini on order is also laser blue, which was competing with chili red as our 2nd choice.
Lightning blue looks real good in these pics and it's kinda making me rethink my decision too...
But if I remember correctly, the blues looked different in person.
The lightning blue looked real dark in person rather than that deep blue like in the picture. Does it look like that for you guys too?
And the laser blue looked more like a deep blue in person too.
I guess, if that's the case... it pretty much is like the BMW laguna seca blue then.

I agree with you... the Lightning Blue is just too dark in person, and does not look very metallic, even though it is. It does nothing to complement the car, and would look black at night, which i don't like. I wish Mini would have made a brillant metallic blue that was in between these 2 colors. I'm going to stay with the Laser Blue, but wish I would have picked the top in body color, ( I went with white), and went with silver stripes and mirrors which in my opinion would have calmed down the 'electric' look of the blue...but Mini does not offer this on the Cooper, only the Clubman...Go figure.

That's the one thing I don't get - why they only allow a few ascetic options here and there for the S or the convertible or clubman, etc.

I managed to get around one of these. My MCS is pure silver w/ black roof. The mirror caps (Even after-market) are only available in black, chrome, union jack, checkboard. But, I really wanted a set in pure silver. This is standard on the convertible and it looks really sharp. So, I made it part of the deal and the mgr wrote it into my contract, and he's ordered the parts just for me (and they are part of my freebies). I also got a set of caps in chrome, to mix things up when I like :-)

I have the laser blue (w/white top) but it wasn't my first choice; it was my third choice after dark silver and mellow yellow. I also contemplated lightening blue, but I already have another car that is dark blue (montreal blue). To me, the laser blue is a neutral shade that's not too bold nor too conservative. I like the combo you have (with the silver stripes). I'm thinking about adding silver sport stripes to mine sometime down the road.

So what made you end up w/ laser blue, if the others were to your preference?

I absolutely wanted white roof, and after seeing a dark silver w/white roof, I decided that's not the combo for me (maybe I saw too many dark silver with black roof and subconsciously think that color with white roof is weird). I then spec'd out a mellow yellow, but I couldn't get color upholstery with that color. Then I check NAM and noticed there aren't that many Laser Blue owners, so I went ahead and ordered Laser Blue thinking that the color would be rare. But of course, now everyone is ordering Laser Blue.
