How much discount for a new 2007 mcs?

I found a dealer with a new 2007 mcs (sport and premium pkgs) on his lot. The msrp with destination is $27900. What would be a reasonable discount to ask? Should I try to trade my similarly equiped 2004 mcs with 18000 miles?

I know somebody that went to Memphis, TN last month and got $2000 off on a new 07 MCS on the lot. A 08 was going to be sticker price, so they got the 07. It looked to me like it had pretty much everything, except navigation.

Sounds like he's asking a lot for it, especially for a 2007. Don't do your trade w/ him - you will not come out ahead - sell your car privately and detail it up beforehand, take lots of pictures. Is it really a 2007 or is it 2008?

Bear in mind that you can get a used 2007 MCS w/ lots of extras and low mileage for about $23000, perhaps better. Check out cars.com and autotrader.com.

Hi,

Last month I bought a brand new 2007 MCS that had an MSRP of 29,500 but after the so called dealer additions had a sticker of 31,000. He sold it to me for 26,500. I spent many hours there negotiating that deal. He just wanted to get it off the lot, it was a Mellow Yellow MCS 6spd manual. He said there is not a big market for a manual in L.A. so I got a great deal, you can too.

Thanks for the info. I have to decide whether to order exactly want which is actually fewer options then the dealers 07. I think the dealer will give me a good deal on the 07, however.

Hi Mark,

You may wish to peruse these. There are quite a few 2007 MCS out there, with a much lower price tag than that dealer is asking. If I wasn't so darn tall, I would have gotten one of these instead of my custom 08 MCS (no sunroof).

You guys are lucky... I had to pay MSRP.
Living in Hawaii sucks. Pretty much just one dealer on the island for most makes.

Re: Memphis dealer

Are you talking about purchasing and having it shipped? How much was the shipment and what was the process like?

I have put a deposit down, and its being shipped. I was wondering if you bargain when you go and pick up the car.

Ouch. You may certainly ask for a few things when you go pick it up, but you signed a contract, right? If so, they have no obligation (and you have no leverage). Sorry.

Perhaps they might give you one or two small things? Mats, tire pressure gauge, wheel locks?

Anyone else have any thoughts?
