British Racing Green or Lighting Blue

BRG or LIB both with white roofs and rims, which would you choose? and maybe white bonnet stripes

Oh that's a tough question.... It's all about what YOU like. Personally, I am a fan of Blue but there are a lot of MINI peeps out there that love the BRG. So I guess I'm not much help...

Donna

PS - Blue........Blue...........Blue.........

I'm going with lightning blue w/ black top.

But I think LiB w/ white and white stripes looks good too

BRG. It's classic!

Seriously, I did pick it because it's a bit of a nod to MINI's racing past/racing past in general. If that helps.

But, with mine at about 2,500 miles, I can tell you: You'll love whichever color you get.

SJ

PS -- BRG .... BRG .... BRG [Hi Donna!]

I think it all depends on where you live, the climate conditions and scenery. I think Blue's look good in the southern or coastal states and the greens look good in the northern, midland states

First off the most famous racing minis were red with white roofs. Second of all BRG is technically BAVARIAN RACING GREEN as TRUE British Racing Green is a flat color with NO METALIC FLAKES. How I wish the Overlord Bean Counters in Germany would wake up and bring out a TRUE British Racing Green!

A non metallic BRG would be really cool, that said, I still got the available BRG. Came close to going sparkling silver.

+1

This is why I will probably go DS or LIB. I saw the BRG at the dealer and I just couldn't handle the metallic part...seems so fundamentally wrong.

I was going to get a lightning blue with black roof. But once I saw a Chilli Red with Black roof next to it . I changed my mind Chilli all the way. It just screams mini.

You might have noticed that we BRG folks have no need of a *support* thread.

If the white roof is a must, then I think the blue would look better. But I don't like contrasting roofs, nor stripes, so it would be BRG all over for me. Again!

Despite my love for BRG (Bavarian or British), if you want stripes I'd go blue, actually. Blue and red, I think, are the best colors for stripes.

I still like the BRG, in part because it isn't the most popular -- I'm able to pick my MINI out of a crowd!

BLUE

I've changed my mind so many times on the color I want, I like chili red with a black roof but if I got chili red i would want to get the rooster red inerior and other red interior features but it cost me too much because if i have a black roof I would want the JCW black rims.

But when it comes to BRG OR LIB, I'm having a hard time choosing. Green is my favorite color EVER, (and don't they say people who choose green are smart ) but the BRG is pretty dark so sometimes it looks black instead of green when it gets a little dark out. And So far I know of 2 people in my town with BRG. One lives around the block form me and the other 3 blocks away. The only thing is that they both have black roofs, so if I did get one I'd be somewhat unique with a white roof

Now on the other hand, LIB is really nice too and I dont think anyone in my town has one and I've only seen 1 LIB in real life. Mostly every mini owner I see has Chili Red, Pepper White, Silver or BRG.

So it's really a toss up for me, I always walk by the BRG one around the block and try to picture myself driving it and I could get it but I could also get the LIB. I think I'll be placing the order in 3 weeks so I do need to mae up my mind. Why is this decision sooo hard haha

Both will show dirt about the same. You can go a little more crazy in the interior with the LiB, but I went for BRG. Just seemed more *me*.

Point of caution-- white wheels are a pain to keep clean...

This was my exact dilemma (minus the white wheels). I ended up going with BRG because my last MINI was IB. As far as the bonnet stripes go... I think the sport stripes look much better, especially on LiB

Hear hear on keeping the rims white and clean, but the whole look is just so SNAZZY. British or Bavarian, doesn't matter...the look of it is just classy. BRG -- BRG -- BRG!!!

I was so stuck on BRG with white roof, white bonnet stripes, white mirrors, and white rims, that I ended up with two identical Minis!! (one was '04 MCS, and the newer was '07 MCS Turbo -- HAD TO HAVE the turbo in Germany!) The mean husband made me sell my '04 before we left Europe, but no one could tell them apart unless they were side by side. I probably would have had a better argument for keeping the '04 if I had had different colors... Ah well.

I liked how the BRG was dark enough to turn nearly black; it's two colors for the price of one! If you think of it that way, you can talk yourself into spending a little more on the interior or whatever else...

And I went with a dark interior -- anthracite and piano black and the MINI feels very classy but also mature... until the JCW tuning kicks in.

Flip a coin? You can't lose either way.
