I'm currently own an '07 MINI cooper S, Pure Silver. I'm planning to purchase a set of R99 - 17" Double Spoke Wheel and wondering which color option would be best for my MINI... Silver, Grey, and Polished... Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, anyone are currently own a set of these wheels, please post up your R99 and of course w/ your MINI...

 

i put the same wheels on my clubman, here is a chili red w/ anthracite

 

IMO, Silver looks good with a Pure Silver MCS. I have some painted silver Rota RBs, and a set of polished aluminum CenterLine RPMs. They both go well with the Pure Silver.

Out of curiosity, how much are the R99 -17s? They are a bit heavy and MINI OEM wheels tend to be quite expensive for what they are.

FastMINI.net has some nice Rotas that are lighter, and probably less expensive.

 

Thanks for the tips... I think I can get a set of four for a little over $1000. You're right about MINI OEM wheels tend to be quite heavy, R99 is actually 20.2 lbs.

I love the way the R99s look and I wanted to get them, but as Robin said, they are heavy and very expensive.

 

I just bought a set of mint Mini OEM R99 polished to go on my 08 MCS AB/AB which is crossing the pond as I write this. Question: The rims came alone, no lugs. Do I need anything special to install these on my MCS when I get it or can I just use the stock lugs from the crown spoke rims that is coming on my Mini. Also I paid $835 for the set of rims. It too late now but was this a decent buy?

 

OEM R99's can be had from Morristown Mini for about $224/wheel and that doesn't include shipping. I think you got an excellent deal.

Yes, your OEM lug bolts will work with the R99's.

A guy in Irving, TX was selling them on eBay. Bought them Wednesday and UPS delivered Friday. Spectacular looking rim. What would be a great tire to fit these with?
