R56 I did it! I did it! I did it!

I did it! I did it! I did it!
I woke up this morning ready to go to the gym and decided to look at the MINI site one more time. That, combined with my financing coming through at a good rate, pushed me over the edge. I hopped in my Honda Element and drove like a bat out of you-know-where to the MINI dealer. I left with a deposit receipt in my had, a smile on my face, and an eight week wait for my new dream car.
Here are some details:
2008 MCS in Pepper White with Pepper White roof
JCW carbon fiber hood scoop
18inch JCW R105 wheels
Redwood Red leather interior
Piano black dash
DSC and LSD
Xenon headlamps
Rear fog lamps
Chrome line interior
Leather multifunction steering wheel
Hi Fi sound system
Bluetooth/iPod adapter
MINI cooper S illuminated sills
wheel locks
alarm
Total configuration price of $31,059 but aprox $410 extra for installation of acessories. East Bay MINI in Pleasanton, CA (the Bay area) sells cars at MSRP and as you know there isn't much chance of a discount. However, I told my MA that I wanted it for the price listed and asked for the installation waived to which he replied "so you want a discount"? I said I would put a deposit down today and get that car if he agreed. Well, after he took a couple trips back and forth to check with some folks, he shook my hand and said congrats on being a new MINI owner! So I am pretty excited and now have to wait eight weeks for delivery.
The only thing now is that I wonder if I will want JCW carbon fiber side mirrors to balance out the car. I think that may be sharp with the all white and carbon fiber hood scoop. In fact, I may consider the JCW carbon fiber hatch handle too. I think those few dark touches will be quite a nice contrast on the all white car, yet still be a "cleaner" look than sport stripes.
I also plan on tinting all the windows darker (esp rear ones) so that will make the "midsection" of the car look black. SO I figure it will be (from the top) white, black, white, black-if you catch my logic.
Ok, now that I have been a total geek, I want to say hi to everyone. Hi!

p.s. Isn't it great to have a forum where we can wax poetic about our cars and people understand?

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I can't wait to get it and will post pics when I do. The nice thing is that it will look 95% like I want it to when I pick it up. I may do some mods as time goes on, but in general I want to keep it fairly "clean". I toyed with sport stripes up until today in fact. I figured I'd go plain for now since I can install them later. Plus if I do decide I want them later it will be like getting a new paint job or something. haha!
The best part is that all the MINI's look great regardless of colou; they are just one sweet ride.

Did you deal with Blair or Jesse?
Congrats!! Now you get to sit around dreaming about your car for the next month + . Additionally, if you really want to drive yourself bonkers check out the topic "How to track your mini" in the 1st Gear forum.
BTW East Bay will take good care of you, their sales team really works hard to make your experience a good one. I had ZERO problems with them and felt very comfortable with my purchase.

BMiniW08. I noticed you have a black car. I guess that makes me the inside out version of you! haha. I must say I have seen a couple black MINI's and they look sweet. What I love is how anything looks good on them; chrome, white, sharp colors like red, etc. I toyed with that color too but figured the Bay area traffic is bad enough without someone potentially not seeing me. In my old Honda Accord I was rear ended two times by (apparently not too observant) drivers while I was sitting still at stop lights! It was their fault each time, but still. A lot of folks here drive very poorly.
I have always been a blue car kind of girl and never even liked white or cream cars. The Pepper White has such a nice creamy finish though, and different than most whitish cars I have seen. Plus, the MINI is so small that a "non colored" car works.

Who did you get it from and how was your delivery experience?

Actually, as it turns out none of the above. I started with Robert this passt Sunday and when I called he was out today. I thought about waiting but just couldn't. I ended up dealing wiht Pau, who as it turns out, was the one someone at work recommended but I couldn't remember his name. He did say they can do a 50/50 split of commissions or something like that.
They were both really sweet. My experience was great and as I noted, Paul gave me a $410 break! I live in Oakland near Berkeley so technically Concord is closer, but I heard such good things about East Bay that I went there.
