New Mini Colors??

Found this on mini2.com.

http://www.mini2.com/2008/04/01/mini...ruity-upgrade/

Apparently Mini is going to have new colors. Kumquat Orange, (replacing Nightfire Red), Sweet Lime (replacing BRG), and Pink Grapefruit in place of sparkling silver.

I'm a big fan of BRG (w/white), and if that is it for BRG, then I've bought my last mini. I also liked sparkling silver (w/white)and toyed with that in place of BRG, and that is apparently gone.

Instead of replacing BRG, they should have made a traditional non-metallic BRG.

I'm sorry, but the new colors sound like Orange gunk, puke green, and pink crap?? They may look ok when they come out, but they need to keep traditional colors.

I miss the colors cars got in the 70's It's gonna be nice to see such a 'colorful' car like the MINI getting some less 'german' colors.

Detroit's doing this with the dodge charger and the daytonas (i used to have a daytona in Go ManGo orange) they made plum crazy(purple) sublime(lime), top banana(bright yellow) and TorRed(red, like chili red)

Pretty colors dont sell well though...sadly. people like their bland-mobiles

Uh.. it *is* April Fool's Day... I think the "Canine Repellent Alloy Protection" (CRAP) settled that one for me.

EDIT: You guys caught it quick! it was the C.R.A.P. wheels that gave it away.

If its legit, I think that the US market would not be too receptive to those puky colors.

True - the last thing we need from MINI is another blue or silver.

How 'bout the Head of Automotive Security?..... Dr. Hans Zoff.
Reminds me of The Three Stooges.

Don't forget the planned changes to the JCW Factory MINI:

In response to average (and below average) Mr. and Mrs. Ugly American now making up 90% of all MINI buyers, MINI announced today that the JCW MINI will come with a specially detuned turbocharged engine that outputs an amazing 140 hp! Combined with the 10 speed automatic transmission (the only transmission available), the JCW MINI will return an amazing 55 mpg highway and 45 mpg city. Suspension changes include softer shocks and springs supplied by Tata Motors of India. As befitting of a vehicle with such sporting pretenses, the bucket seats will be replaced by bench seats produced by GM.
Soft purple light rings will surround the instrument cluster as well as the automatic gear shift **** and gently bath the interior in soothing purple majesty. Neon purple light rings will glow brightly below each rocker panel as well as around each license plate. Of course, a large fart can will replace the standard exhaust tips.

Haha I like the idea of an orange MINI. There were a couple at MINI United, and done right, it's a very hot colour. Non-metallic. Very nice.

I caught on that something suspicious was going on when they mentioned getting rid of BRG. I can't see that happening!!

I posted this on my local club site. We'll see how many people I trick

I am kind of disappointed. I really didn't see the thread till the 7th so never put it together till someone said it was aprilg fools joke. I like my purple haze but would have traded it for a pink if the shade was right.
