R56 What car/member inspired you the most?
What car/member inspired you the most?
After scouring this forum for as many R56 examples as I could, I finally was able to order my fiance's R56 yesterday that we BOTH liked. We first started with White with black roof, then laser blue with black roof, then red with white roof, and finally, yellow with yellow roof. Rubino's yellow MCS color combo was finally the car that clenched it color for us...
What about you guys?

Actually, what inspired me most was a late 1960's Mini Cooper S I saw in high school, and I was impressed by their wins at Monte Carlo. My father had a Citroen DS21 Palace an uncle had brought over from France. So, I was already familiar with a (then very rare) front wheel drive car.
I was thinking about the R53's and watching the Consumer Reports reliability reports as they steadily improved from year to year. I wanted an S, but the mileage reports I saw were around 18 city. When the R56 came out with more power and better mileage, I couldn't resist.
As for color, I debated between Chili Red and Pure Silver and ended up with PS.

hey there is nothing wrong with italian job... i had to rewatch it once i started to become interested in these things...i actually made the effort to rent it! and i have the old italian job movie too!
Actually, I was inspired by Charlize Theron in the Italian Job!
That was an interesting movie in that in the beginnin, she was driving a Classic Mini (I think?) When she got out of the car at her lock shop, she used the FOB to lock it. I don't know when they first started using FOB's, but I am surprised that they would be available on a Classic!
THen later, when they were driving the Red, White, and Blue Mini's, there was only one MCS and the other 2 were Justa Coopers. No offense, but if I'm building a get away car for a heavy haul of 27 million in gold bricks, I doubt that I'd have a guy named Wrench modding out a Justa Cooper.
I guess Hollywood underestimated the Cooper Cult to pick up on this.
Great movie however and there is a sequel on it's way called the "Brazilian Job" again, I think!

I was inspired by a DS with black wheels and stripes that drove past me a few years ago. The image was burnt into mt retina's until I finally went out and got one last week. I dunno if they are here.

STATHAM: You know, I've been talking about that for two years: The Brazilian Job. I think somebody should just erase it from IMDb. Save us all a problem, and put it back on there when it's fully due and ready. I don't know. It's one of those things that's just sitting around.
