Anyone consider or get a bluetooth retrofit done?

I'm wondering how much it would cost to have the bluetooth option installed. Is it something that can be installed easily? Is it costly? Anyone know?

I bought a Parrot Evo and then the wiring harness from newministuff.com. With the exception of seeing the incoming calls on my nav screen, it functions just as well as the factory unit, including the steering wheel controls. My installer even managed to run the microphone into the overhead compartment where the factory microphone would be. I am very satisfied.

I am actually looking into this. Once I have all the correct part numbers and costs I can post them. I managed to get for my 11/2007 R56 the BMW TIS and ETK DVD's.

Cheers,
Roberto

Yeah I saw this in the archives. I just don't like the look of the extra LCD screen for that kit. I would rather have the one that integrates into the radio's display.

I have considered getting the factory bluetooth retrofit done as well, but I have not asked for prices. If you do get some quotes, please post.

On 2008 models, the USB port comes with the bluetooth option so I'm not sure why a retrofit wouldn't have it. I should call come of my local dealers and find out how much it costs.

Has anyone else considered a bluetooth retrofit and inquired about prices?

The Parrot Evo does not have the LCD, thats the Parrot 3200 model. I spoke to my dealer and he advised me that the parts cost for retrofitting the factory bluetooth is over $1,000. To this you have to add labor. I just came across this, http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-i...-r55-mini.html
If that was available, I would have considered getting the 3200.

I got the Bluetooth factory installed. I love having it. If I did not already have it installed, I would get it retrofited. Its such a really great feature.

Retrofit kit is not available still. You can retrofit it yourself if you have the multifunction steering wheel and your stereo has the phone button on it (which means the wiring is in place to support it).

I did some digging in my 07 MCS JCW and found all the wiring in place to plug the modules into and have the dealer enable the codes in the computer. I did post a little while back a complete breakdown of all the parts needed to retrofit a unit into place. I will see if I can find the post and link it back to here.

Cheers.

That is good news. I have all the buttons, on the steering wheel and the stereo. I'd like to know how much.

Does this mean the mic and stuff is wired as well?

Yes, the wiring is all there and for the mic also .... Unfortunately, the main module is around $700.00 at the best discounted price (around $375.00 dealer cost, normally $900.00 over the counter). The mic and bluetooth antenna modules are the cheap ! Have not tried to see if Morristown mini can give better pricing yet ....

No, not yet ..... My wife was eyeing my mini too much so we ended getting her own mini and well left me a little broke for now.

It is on my short list of things to get since I hate the aftermarket that is currently installed. I know I will like it since I did get a chance to test one at the dealers with our current phones

I'll take pics of the install and post 'em. If you tend to avoid medical journals you should avert your eyes...

Hi everybody,

I was wondering if anyone had updates either on the factory module or newministuff's. I am currently in Boston, but I am going back to Europe in a few months and I need the bluetooth since I will take my wonderful car with me!

I have the factory nav and the voice control. I would really like to have a system that works just like the factory one. For instance, it would be great to have the "communication" feature on my screen, be able to see who's calling me or be able to call when I have a phone number on my navigation.
I know that I am asking for a lot...

Thanks in advance for the help!!
