Stripes

I'm trying to decide on stripes for my new mini, I've got an idea of what I want so I thought I'd bounce it off you guys before trying to order.

Ferris is going to be a PS/B Cooper S with a sunroof. I was thinking of going with a set of regular Viper stripes in DS from MightyStripes. I thought the DS would look kind of like a ghost stripe on the pure silver and would keep me from having to go with a separate color on the roof. I know the roof is black so I should contrast or just not put anything but to be honest I just don't like either of these options.

What do you guys think?

I'm not sure how this would all come together because I'm not that clever to see things in my head. What I can tell you, Geeks, is that, if you look at my gallery, I have recently added bonnet stripes from Aesthetic Creations. I can tell you that the white with black pinstripes really helped to pull the colors together. I love that I added the stripes and will be adding boot stripes soon and remove the cooper s badge. Get the stripes. You won't be sorry.

I'm going with floor to floor viper stripes on my DS/B MCS. Here are some shots of one that I'm using as a model. Of course, this will require DS stripes on the roof.

Sorry for the unauthorized use of your Mini...whoever this nice car belongs to

Me too. The only thing I'm going to do different from what's shown in the pictures is have the stripes go over the boot handle.

I was going to go for a dark silver racing stripe from MightyStripes, but they raised the price $100 from their estimate when I went to order. So, I just got black as a temporary measure. After installing them, I found I liked the combination. If I change them in the future, I'll probably go with Aesthetic Creations, or Cooper Flags.

Assuming Dark Grey is the same as Dark Silver the cost from mightystripes should be $75 plus $8 shipping. Sounds reasonable.

At the time, they wanted $325.00 and said they had to special order it. Dark Silver is a metalflake. Other than possibly Silver, I don't see any metalflake colors listed on their web page.

I like the look of viper stripes on a MINI....I think black on the silver and silver on the roof would look sweet...course I'm biased as far as reverse stripes go....

Make sure you know exactly what you want and read as much as you can about any aftermarket vendor before buying stripes. Stay away from Silver.
Mighty Stripes would not be my choice based on my experience, but they could say the same thing about me as a customer.

Just had dark silver stripes with pure silver edges from Cooper Flags installed, bonnet and boot. Quite pleased.

Those look really nice.

How much did that run for vinyls and install?

Viper Stripes all the way!! There are maannyy variations, colors, and options for vinyl. You can get any shade under the sun with many effects (metallics, metalflakes, pearls, color shifting, etc. As well as brands. You could go with a slightly different color than your stock color for a ghost look.

I was told not too long ago that some prices went up due to fuel costs.

Where do you find the color shifting stripes? That sounds right up my alley.
It would also be nice if someone out there had some kind of cgi where you could see a MINI in your color combination and try out different stripe options on it.

I love the stripes but having a hard time thinking of the optimum stripe color(s) for Max (see sig for pic)

Sorry, I'm late getting back here. The installation was $143 total, front and back, including replacement of COOPER S logo on boot. I'll have to check on the cost of the vinyl. I never thought to ask Ed about the price, as they made these same stripes for my previous 05MCS. Will post late tonight.

I added side stripes

I had a local company make side stripes that matched my factory bonnet stripes. After I installed the matte black wheels I thought the car didn't have enough contrast. I have since blacked out the chrome on the belt line.

Bonnet stripes were $75, boot stripes were $40, plus tax and shipping. Here's the boot:
