Also,,, sorry for the oddly-phrased update.. I was writing from my iphone and it's not the most pleasurable medium to do so.

Update: Talked to MINI USA Customer Relations.

It IS within the power of the dealership to refuse service of the vehicle for warranty work, as they are independently owned.

So... since I don't believe the car is fixed...and if they are serious. I may prepare to sell the vehicle...

Sounds like what I was told at MoS a few years ago. I emailed MINI USA and was told that they wouldn't do a thing. This was a few years ago, and MoS has changed management but I still haven't been back (expect to buy the occasional oil filter from the parts dept).

BMW needs to check in with their dealer network, they seem to really take the MINI customer for granted.

If they refuse to service your car (and apparently they can), what happens if you need a tow? Would they then tow to Atlanta? Would you even have a choice?

I asked MINI USA the same question. They replied... well when that happens,,, assuming our call center is open... call us and maybe we can over ride that, given the circumstances, or compel your local dealer to service your car. However, we can't promise either right now,,, only a firm answer could be given when/if that happens.

I would suggest filing a complaint with the BBB and perhaps also contact the FTC - Federal Trade Commission.

One more thing, since he doesn't like your use of the internets, perhaps use that to your advantage. In politics, the internet is often a used as a rallying force to affect change. I would be willing to call this dealership up myself and complain about this treatment, who's with me?

That the manager wants to refuse service because you're bad mouthing their service is unconscionable. Perhaps my call will also include asking said service manager if anything you've said is untrue. I'm tired of being pushed around by crappy and unprofessional service. It's time for some payback.

+1, if need be I have no problem calling in as well... Dealers like this make me sick - using this thread as a perfect example, it really has potential to ruin the brand image.

Even with my mods, my dealer has been nothing but helpful and professional to me over the course of my (granted, relatively short) time with MINI. I just cannot understand why another dealer would treat their customers any different.

This would be different if I had manipulated what I've been told by both my dealer and MINI USA... But I haven't. It's a complete ditto copy. in text form.

I should make a movie lol

What I meant was to ask the manager if everything you've said is true then what's his problem? Sorry about the confusion.

Oh I knew what you meant. I really have nothing to say to them. Except fix my damn car lol... He can whine about me posting on the internet the truth about the horrible service I've experienced, all he wants. I'm exercising my right to the 1st Amendment.
