Windows don't go back up

This is the second time this has happened so I'm hoping someone else has experienced this before and can give a solution. My car has stopped automatically raising the window when you close the door. Like you open the door and it goes down, but then when you close it it doesn't go back up like it's supposed to. I'm having to do it manually each time. The first time it happened I figured I had screwed it up somehow, I had a klutzy moment and couldn't make my fingers flip the toggle switch so it did a little dance and then stuck halfway up. When I got home I noticed that the window didn't reclose after I got out. My old car used to do this occasionally and the fix was to hold the switch up for a few seconds to reset the computer. I tried that here just for the heck of it, I'm pretty sure it didn't work the first time but eventually something took and it fixed itself. Now yesterday, the window stopped going back up again. I didn't confuse it this time by flipping the switch a lot, it just stopped doing it's thing. I tried the holding the toggles up for a few seconds and nothing. Then randomly at lunch, it started working again. I washed the car, that's the only thing I did differently. So either Rosey is being finnicky and wanted a bath or I don't know what. Also, the Autoup on the drivers side isn't working either, it works just fine on the passengers side and you'd think that it would be just the opposite if that's just the way it is. I'm scared I have a software issue, yeah- I know, easy fix but it's a 2 hour drive to my dealer. Anyone have any suggestions?

This happened to me for the first time yesterday. I lowered and raised the window and it started working fine again. Maybe your window was not up all the way to begin.

I've read on here that, with the door closed, if you close the windows all of the way and then hold the button in the up position for 5 minutes, that resets them or something. Mine haven't ever acted up other than being frozen shut a few times.

Woah, 5 minutes would be a LONG time to be holding the button up.

Yup try lowering them all the way then raising them and hold it up for 10 seconds after they get up (5 minutes might be overkill).

If that doesn't work, then yea - wash your MINI =)

Definitely all the way up to start with. Considering it did it several times and I rolled it all the way back up both times. I first noticed it when I started hearing excessive road noise and realized the window wasn't up, couldn't see that it was down from inside until you opened the door a few times and had worked it's way down an inch or 2. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Did it fix itself or did you find a fix yourself?

I was told elsewhere to hold the toggle up for 10 seconds. Add that to the different times required
