The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada has named the 2007 Mini Cooper S the Sports/Performance Car of the Year in the under $50,000 category. Runners up were the Dodge Caliber SRT-4, Honda Accord EX-L V6 6-MT, Nissan Altima Coupe, Subaru WRX, and the Volvo 30.

Very smart to have a category like that. No Bimmer? That surprises me. You can get plenty-o Bimmer for under 50K.

 

Seriously, and can't you get a Lotus for under $50k? Maybe not in Canadia?

 

Unfortunately, up here the Elise starts at just under $60K. :(

 

My 335i was less than $50K and it sure is a hell of a lot better in all aspects than my MCS ! Wow, maybe that cold weather up there is affecting their brains.

 

I think cars cost a lot more in Canada...
