Has anyone paid for an upgrade, if so how much and how long does it take, also what is in the latest upgrade.

What, it isn't a warranty issue? I'm taking mine in for a software upgrade in Dec. and don't expect to pay for it because it is necessary to fix voice recognition.

Wasn't the consensus that software updates were not enabling either that or the sport button in the tach display? I know they're both simple software features but I read that even so they weren't showing up after an update.

Yeah. I just updated my software two weeks ago. No cruise control or "sport" display.

It could very well be that the digital cruise, "sport" display, auto-wiper sensitivity settings, etc. are all being controlled by the hardware/firmware that is part of the On Board Computer itself (and not related to the body control module's firmware). That would possibly explain why folks don't get the new features when upgrading what we are generically refering to as "the software".

Please let me know how it goes. 1st time they tried the button was functioning but not recognizing the correct responses. Have contacted them (mountain view) and will try again maybe in the new year or after yours is fixed.

I also went in earlier this month. The only change that I noticed was that the sunroof now goes to the tilt position and stops with a full pull of the toggle switch. Let go and pull it again, then the front roof slides open.

It did nothing to add the cruise control speed on the tach, nor does it show the sport button is engaged, as owners of some late year builds have mentioned. Also did nothing to allow a change in sensitivity for the auto headlights and wipers.

When did you have the upgrade done? They were alerted to the voice recognition on May 10, 2007 when I picked up my MCS. My MA talked to a tech about it. I was hoping that seven months later they would have figured out how to deal with it.

My voice recognition worked from the day I picked up my car in April. When I went in to have the Ipod adaptor installed, along with the OEM Sirius radio, the general car software upgrade did not hold initially.

Along with that, the voice recognition no longer worked. They had to hold on to the car for a few days and contact Mini's national tech staff. When they figured it out, everything worked fine again. Including the voice recognition. You should be fine.
